Another halfarsed idea from the Government.
100's of players are scattered all over the planet atm but no one knows yet when/if the 14 days quarantine plan will be enforced.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Theyve already binned thatfor France havent they?
I'm sure they'll allow certain lifting of restrictions. Sandy made a good point about the possibility of that quarantine being about keeping holiday money in the country while we recover.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Won't be good for the image of football if players can go straight from the airport to the training ground whilst us mere mortals would be told to self-isolate for 14 days.

I doubt they care Boris.
I forsee the airlines bringing in a an optional test that you can take for an additional fee upon arrival, to circumvent the quarantine rules.
It is impossible to have `top level sport` behind closed doors, half the players would not even be trying, a complete farce and non event

No chance the bottom six/seven will let games resume, they will use everything in their power to derail project restart so they can guarantee staying up.
Another 3 weeks of backstabbing, selfish interest, p1 5 5 poor communication, stupid ideas, underhand tactics, players not knowing what to do and alot too scared to say NO, rubbish leadership, bullying, conspiracy theories, more stupid rule changes and saboteur slandering against clubs rightfully looking out for themselves.
In fact the entire season has been more interesting since it stopped mid March. Whatever happens The Premier League will never be the same again.
Anyone else just not excited for behind closed doors footy?

No chance of that happening, tests are far better done at departures before you board a flight, infect thos around you and land 1000's miles away in another Country.
I'm sure once they decide to open up flying for the masses then temperature checks etc will be done before you board any aircraft

I've been feeling underwhelmed about PL football since early to mid April to be honest.
Maybe the excitement will come back, I don't know.
It just seems quite pointless at the moment. Meaningless.

'no chance'
Okay.
The flaw in your plan is that it requires International collaboration and trust.
Testing on arrival doesn't, and could easily be implemented.

There will also be teams currently sat occupying European places (that are at risk of dropping out of it), that will be thinking the same.
Why restart and risk missing out on Europe, when ending it now probably guarantees them a place (should there be any European competitions next season).

Awful prospect to finish the season doing this, but money talks

i'll stomach it for 9 games or so over 4 weeks or so. get it over with if we can.

Crowds can see when players can't be a r5 e d on the pitch. I can't even imagine how uninterested most of them will be with no prying eyes on them!

Why do some people keep applying what they would feel onto elite sportmen?
Like tgere has never been a game behind closed doors or I never tried my absolute best on Saturday afternoons.
Colemans did this with his 'momentum' shocker of an article the other day too.
It's just nonsense.
Sportsmen are amongst the least competitive by nature tbh.

Goddamn right😉. The Project has been a joke from the start in every aspect. You can't derail an impending disaster. Clubs must fight for there own self interest no matter how ugly and underhand it might seem.
The fairest thing to all is to finish this season when it's safe to do so. Play all 38 games and then discuss a way to truncate next season when no points have been played for.
There's one reason why people would disagree, selfishness.

If there are rules in place and those clubs abide by the rules and vote against a restart behind closed doors at neutral grounds then it's the rule makers at fault.
Those clubs voting against a restart are doing nothing that's against the rules. It will be up to the authorities to come up with a more agreeable plan
