Your logic that beating a side over 2 legs makes them a better team is so dumb.

Unless you believe Spurs were a better side than Man City last season? Ajax better than Real Madrid and Juventus? Man United better than PSG?

Liverpool and City are currently a stronger 2 teams than any other 2 in any of those leagues. In terms of the rest I don't know.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Barcelona and Madrid >>>> Liverpool and City
Bayern and Leipzig >>>>> Liverpool and City
Juventus and Inter >>>>> Liverpool and City
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Liverpool got to 2 consecutive CL finals, and close to 100 points in the league. City close to 100 points in the league the last couple of seasons and looked like knocking Real Madrid out of the CL.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
CL is a cup so is pure luck.

Ganing 100 pts just shows up a week league tbh.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Or a very good team.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not really.
The worst Napoli team in ten yrs totally schooled them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe don't look into one off matches too much. It was a group game and they still got out of the group.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We played em 5 times in 12 months n only once did they get the better of us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Teams having inferior bogey teams can be common in football.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
*superior
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A superior team who haven't won the league or CL while Liverpool have.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly.
100% proving that the CL is pure luck.
And that the league Napoli r in is faaar superior than the backwater farmers league Liverpool r in.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nope it's just that Napoli aren't good enough.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Correct
We r not good enuff 2 win our lrague
But good enuff too school a team at top of a farmers league n who win a cup competition that is pure luck n UEFA-chosen based on TV revenue.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And still come second in the group to the team who you school.

And yet last season Liverpool fans declared there side the best in Europe.

I take it they weren't then, they were just the best in a knockout competition

You could make that argument if you wanted to but it's all relative. Liverpool won the CL and finished with 97 points last season so they're clearly in the conversation.

When City got 100 points in 17/18, they played Liverpool 4 times that season and lost in 3 of those 4 games. Doesn't mean Liverpool were better than City in 17/18.

I watched the Dortmund v Munich game the other day and the quality was very high.

........

I thought the opposite. It wasn’t a very good game at all. Very few chances and Dortmund just couldn’t break down the Bayern back line.

There wasn’t any point in the second half where I thought either team would score, let alone Dortmund who needed to.

We could put a lit of it down to rust maybe.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Two constructing points, I’m talking on the quality of player not quality of match. Reminded me of Chelsea v Utd around 2008-10. The pace of the teams were frightening

Did Liverpool win their domestic league the season you all came out claiming they were the best team in Europe.

A simple yes or no would suffice

We won 1 n tied 1 game v each team in the group which proves that the backward farmers league Liverpool r in is same level as the Austrian n Belgium leagues.

You're right. I'm now convinced Napoli have been a much better team than Liverpool these last few years.

Obviously not but as I said it's all relative. Liverpool missed out on the title by 1 point, if they were 15 points back then no I wouldn't say they were the best team in Europe.

Why does no one question the fact that Liverpool have lost multiple CL games this season but look unbeatable in the PL?

What does that say about the quality of the PL?

I'm only going by your logic,ie were spurs better than City were ajax better than real.

Are you being selective in your views, because if you want to go by your set of criteria were Liverpool better than Barcelona?

How am I being selective when I haven't said Liverpool were the best side in Europe? I said they're part of the conversation and a team you can make the argument for. You could likewise make the argument for Barcelona as they won their league and lost in the semi finals if you wanted to.

What I am saying however is that beating a side over 2 legs does not automatically make you a better team.

So by that logic, whoever wins the Champions league doesn't make them the best team in Europe.

I can go with that

The top 6-7 perm teams are good, the rest are pretty rubbish, average at best. It’s a bit of myth about it being by miles the strongest league, it’s the richest keague.
