Well I’m sure the BBC did their research but feel free to argue it with them.

Argue what? I think I would know more than the BBC which words I would use.

Also this is an opinion piece on what the author believes are the "most noted examples".

I'm really not sure what you're on about. Perhaps you've been drinking something stronger than the Jamisons I'm on.

You’re saying you’re not really sure they’re Americanisms. I’m saying they obviously are and the BBC will have done their research. You just aren’t sure they are because they’re already deep rooted in our vernacular.

Gotten annoys the fuсk out of me. At this stage, after the whiskey I've drank, or drunk?, I'd punch somebody for saying 'gotten'.

No worries. Also I remember reading an article before about Americanisms that were originally from Britain but lost common use here so people think they originated in America. Soccer is the only one I remember but I think there were a few others that would surprise you.

I sh!t you not my sales director asked me to park my thoughts and put a pin in them so we could drill down into the bedrock of the current issue.

There is a bullsh!t jargon generator online that I was using to put just one sentence in per monthly report. Six months before he noticed.

Yes but we can all accept that some Americanisms are acceptable but when it comes to sport, many are embarrassing. I actually feel embarrassed for the English language when I hear them.

Fall is English, Forza?

A lot of Americanisms are just anglicised French and Latin, I believe. Our bastardised language is much better.
