'Call your own shot' is one i like.
It's based on Babe Ruth reportedly calling his own shot one time in the 1932 World Series.
Toor, yeah no doubt. Though some American commentators crack me up when they use them in football.
Shutout for clean sheet, for example.
Anyone remember the penalties the MLS had because no game could end in a draw? Those fvckers even had to change penalties to 25 yard one on ones and they were all absolutely woeful
There was a player called Paulo Echeverry or something. Cba to google it. He was the only player that looked like he could do more than ten kick ups.
Not related but when you mention bullshlt generator it reminded me of the Irish president's speech around lockdown. The whole quote he used at the end of his speech was from Lord of the Rings. I shlt you not.

No way. Thay must have come from ice hockey surely. I was a secretly good hockey player in my youth and would watch a lot of ice hockey.
In fact one time my school decided to start up a boys hockey team. Although I was on the school football team I asked to play as I was good at it and enjoyed it, when I played in primary school and the youth club. We had football against the girls and the hockey against the girls. Naturally we destroyed them in the football and they would have destroyed us in the hockey too but I fuсked them up. Before this I had asked to join the team. The coach told me no as she didn't like me, which to be fair I can understand, I loved football and took the рiss out of her coaching skills. Anyway after she saw me play, she begged me to play on the team. Of course as a bastаrd teen, I went with the opportunity to spite her.
I remember doing those in training when I was seven. I was better than them then as well.

2.42 in that clip the striker wins a penalty during the penalty shoot out
Toor: I do like a bit of Ice Hockey. Well to watch it anyway. Great documentary on the USSR team playing USA during the cold war actually.
Quarterback. How the AF could I forget this absolute abortion of a phrase when used in football?

It is absolutely crazy how popular it is in the former Soviet teams. I remember being in an airport in Riga and the whole security personnel were sitting in the bar I was in, watching Latvia lose to Russia. The place could have got robbed blind when the game was on.

Seriously though htf do you miss? You've got a free run at a keeper, with much if the target time aim for. It is easier than a penalty, which is already too easy.
Chess was the big thing during the Cold War as well. Fischer vs Spassky. The Russians were facking gutted.
