how dare someone suggests boycotting businesses owned by white majority in a fight against racism
LOL at the faux outrage, probably the same people that were outraged by CK taking the knee
this group of people will be outraged by anything but the issue (RACISM).
----------------------------------------------------------------------
so you want black people to own the economy by boycotting the white majority businesses.....so you are supporting a fight for inequality equality
another Megan rapinoe in the making here
----------------------------------------------------------------------
WOW is all I can see if that is the conclusion you draw from my statement
people boycott business to effect changes not to takeover the business.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
so you put all white businesses out of business and replace them with black businesses
equality?
because I mean lets face it, ethnics aren't allowed in topman are they? the security guards of ASDA are beating ethnics? Tesco charges ethnics more than whites?
this was and should've been a protest against alleged injustice at the hands of the police, yet the left is now trying to make this about more than it is, typical lefty tactics

So they will only cause more problems.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How will the fact that you have gotten upset about a boxer telling people to boycott white businesses in order to try and force social change cause more problems for black people?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeh, because I'm the only person that is going to read or hear his words.
And I'm not particularly upset at his words. I just think that they were ill-advised.

Yes.
I think it’s clear from a lot of reactions all over social media this past week is that racism isn’t just confined to calling black people the N word - it’s also when instead of trying to understand what black people are going through, (some) white people try to create false equivalences with banal straw man arguments.

I haven’t read all the posts on this thread, so I can’t say if I agree or disagree with your comment that there are “closet racists” on this thread.
the issue here in my mind, is I get that ethnics fight a losing battle in many institutions
but to pretend that all white people are born blessed is just stupid and infuriating....go take a drive round wythenshawe or other similar estates up and down the country.
white people may be the majority, but they're also the majority of people under th bread line, in prison etc
just because the affluent are predominantly white doesn't mean it guarantees you that life if you were born white.
but hey what do I know I am white so my opinion doesn't matter, let me just get back in my rolls and head out to my mansion

The sad thing I’ve noticed is how many white people have actually tried to make themselves the victim for having racial inequality pointed out to them.
Turning a blind eye to racism isn’t an option.
This has to be quote of the day.
People experience racism in different forms consistently on a daily basis
If you are not from a BAME background you simply wouldn't understand, you can try but unless you're a victim you just won't get it fully.
