The perpetrators were of asian background which specific country I couldn’t say but within a couple of years of that I went on to have a serious 5 year relationship with an asian girl and enjoyed spending time with her and her family.

Completely agree about the media. Not just this topic of racism but all aspects. It’s so agenda-driven and heavily spammed then guess what? The story disappears and onto the next. Now it’s clear as day that this is how the media works and people should take a lot of it with a pinch of salt but I don’t think enough people do and it can be very indoctrinating, same thing with social media algorithms, very harmful for societies across the world.

Get what you mean but the two are totally different things for me. I don’t think it’s systemic as I think there are many other factors that also lead to disparities. Culture is a strong factor for certain disparities for example.

I’m an educator by profession, and tolerance and understanding of other people, whatever their race and beliefs are taught as a constant.

I too will call out racism when its blatant but when people in power use it, they are very discreet and it's virtually impossible to prove but we know why. It's obvious to us

The range is also enormous from a dirty look to not getting an interview because your name isn't John Smith. There's been studies around this but how do you prove this stuff or explain it to people who've never been victims.

I don't think racism is a simple subject to discuss as there are so many levels of racism. Things have improved and it's alot harder to be openly racist nowadays for fear of a backlash, losing jobs etc but have a look at keyboard warriors. Racism everywhere

Things like 9/11 and Brexit always seems to happen and the racists see this as a green light to come out again. Anyway I'm rambling now.

I live close to Bradford and have many friends and family members that have experienced racism from the large Asian population in the city.

That said, I am certain that the number of white people that have suffered racism is much lower than those from minorities.
