Hmmm, not saying it wont happen, but cant see anything happening with Jimenez before the Europa league situation is resolved. He wouldnt be able to play for United in the upcoming stage of the tournament but even so wouldn't be right I don't think for him to move or agree one before then.
As for Paulinho, I think he'd be a good back up option to Jimenez, not so sure about a replacement.
And talking of the Europa, isnt it about time Gem got off his sun lounger and sorted out a preview thread?
Be amazed if anyone left before the Europa is concluded.

Sooner he went to Juventus rather than Utd.
He's too good for them.
Sorry to see him go but we've got a great price and we need a proven goal scorer in ( Ings anyone )

why should we have to sell jimenez at all ?
why can't we have two top class strikers ?
we're trying to break into the top 4 ffs
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Selling stars is inevitable, we need to wake up to that fact. Whether it be Jimenez or somebody else. And selling when a player is at peak value isn't a bad thing. Jimenez will never be worth more than he is this summer for.example.
more of a need to wake up to the income getting into the top 4 brings - selling our best players will never get us there.

Why not? Selling a player for 60 million can bring in two quality players, that makes the team better. It isn't easy regardless, hence my disappointment at us missing out this term given how poor the big clubs were, it won't be this easy again for a long while.
so you think we'll get 60 mill for raul ?
even ole on crack isn't that stupid
Would say nearer 40 mill but we paid 30 didn't we only a year ago. He certainly won't be going to Man Utd but wouldn't rule out a move to Italy or Spain if the right club came in.

Because if the guy wants to go then he will go. You cannot hang onto a player that sees a future elsewhere. I don't want him to go anymore than you do, but it's the way of the world.
Jiminez must be kept if at all possible
And selling him for under 70 m would be too low
There is a selling clause in his contract that says £73.5 million. We do not have to sell him if that is not met.
Personally for that sort of money we would be silly to not sell him, as his heart would not be in it.
The fee for Palhinha is apparently only around 20 mill not the 30 mill quoted, that is just the release clause figure that doesn't have to be met
I think there is a good chance we could lose one of Jimenez, Traore or Neves (although I'd say Neves is the most likely to have bought into the project) this off-season. Hopefully we cling on to all three though.
If we get a ridiculous amount for someone like Jimenez or Traore though, it doesn't necessarily have to be a bad thing if we are smart with the money and invest well.
Would think that Traore needing an op should keep him at the club.
Wonder what people would think of Jota leaving instead of Jimenez? 30mill perhaps?
I can’t see anyone spending big bucks on Traore with his shoulder problems ongoing
If we could get £70m or £80m for Jimenez then for someone in his late 20s it makes sense financially. But even if all the proceeds were available to reinvest it would be difficult for Wolves to attract someone as good as him as a replacement. If Leao was available to us I would certainly take him at 21 but Milan would want a big fee for him and I guess he could take his pick from a lot of big clubs in Europe
Yeah, I think Traore is unlikely to go because of his shoulder. I do think he is the one I'd probably be most inclined to cash in on if we had to.
I absolutely love watching him play and he is brilliant, but he also is a bit one dimensional. He does one thing incredibly well, but think we become a bit predictable as a team when he is on the pitch. He would probably fetch an enormous fee which would allow us to improve all over.
Like I said, I'd prefer not to lose any if we can still invest and improve.
Wikipedia has Jimmy registered as a Man U player and even says his number is 11.
What. !
He is apparently 29.

Looks like Herb's logged on to wikipedia and updated the Man U page.
True that cashing in now on both Jimenez and Traore would most likely realise the highest return, but spending that windfall wont be easy, getting players to move their families at the moment will be tough. Unless we could get UK based players? Maybe United will offer a part ex, Id take Rashford or Martial, but sadly we'd be offered Lingard <sad>

Now claims of Palhinha not Paulinho being the target from Braga. Not confusing at all
