Good to see that Shabani Meritan is back in full training. The youngster came highly rated from Bayern Munich but suffered a cruciate ligament injury early in his debut in the Carabao Cup against Reading last August

Wasn't that the same match where Bruno Jordao was injured as well?
Yes, two players went off within a few minutes from memory

Didn’t notice we were having a problem attracting players from Spain, Portugal, France etc
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's not quite what I meant DJ. Obviously we have been able to attract young players from all over Europe and latterly South America. My point really is that we are still not at a level where we we can compete with Real Madrid, Barcelona, PSG, PSV, Man U, etc. to bring in top players.
According to the E&S we are determined to sign Allan Saint-Maximin from Newcastle.
Surely another winger can't be a priority? If there is one position where we have an abundance of talent it's with wingers.

He is good though. Newcastle might need some cash now the Saudis have pulled out.
Saint Maximin was star man for Newcastle last season and their fans would be furious if he was sold. If he came to us I would have thought it would only be if Traore was sold.
Similarly Leao of Milan who I saw on tv score an excellent last minute goal last night. He wouldn’t be cheap and we would probably only get him as a Jimenez replacement
Reports in Portugal saying Jimenez is going to Man Utd
https://www.rtp.pt/noticias/futebol-internacional/paulinho-perto-de-trocar-o-sc-braga-pelo-wolverhampton_d1248558
The rumour chain continues with Paulinho the chosen option for Nuno to replace him perhaps
Jiminez to Man Utd and the replacement is all over Twitter, from several sources. A huge transfer fee and an astute replacement wouldn’t be too shabby. I see it as part of our continued upward journey.
Inevitable we will have to sell a 'star' here or there if we want to kick on. Just got to spend the money wisely.
Villa sacked their head of recruitment last week after they just survived despite spending well over £100m
They have now brought in Johan Lange as his replacement. He spent a short time at Wolves heading up their recruitment of players. This was in the Solbakken era!
He has since been working with Stale at Copenhagen

Doesn't sound like someone about to leave to me.
Gianni Infantino, who was bought in by FIFA to replace Sepp Blatter to clean up the sport after all the corruption accusations made at Blatter and Platini, is now the subject of criminal proceedings in Switzerland relating to corruption

That is probably just a sly dig at his missus for not doing the dishes last night, using breast feeding as a weak ass excuse.
Fulham v Brentford playoff final. I hope it's Brentford that goes up. I like the way they've played this year. Also will coincide nicely with the move to their spanking new ground. Will always be disappointed the way they handed promotion to Wet Bum by losing their final home game.
Paulinha deal done according to Twitter...
Does seem that Paulinho is coming for €30m. Not expensive so may be the cover we have wanted for Jimenez not a replacement. Been with Braga for 3 years scoring 34 goals in 88 games
Seems expensive to me for what we would get. 27 years old and not really ever scored many til this season.
Hot rumours are that Jimenez is about to leave for about £70m but to Juventus not Man Utd

rumour - or more likely made up bollox by know nothing journos who can't believe little wolves could possibly buy without having to sell.
That may well be true Wolfgang
Here's more stuff on Jimenez. I like the guy, don't get me wrong, but he was off the boil since the restart. Seems a decent replacement if true, plus a healthy profit:-
Mexican forward Raul Jimenez, 29, is on his way to Manchester United after Wolves agreed a £27m deal to sign Braga's 27-year-old Portuguese striker Paulinho. (RTP, via Express)
Sooner he went to Juventus rather than Utd.
He's too good for them.
Sorry to see him go but we've got a great price and we need a proven goal scorer in ( Ings anyone )
