He's a real diamond in the rough. If Ole can help him develop in the same way as Bruno + Mason, then United have a huge player on their hands.

Having said all that though, I 100% believe United will land Sancho

United won't sign anyone of note before Monday. We'll end up spending in January to try and recover a failing season.

I think we'll at the very least sign Telles

He would settle in well with the French speakers. And I’m sure Jones must have picked up some French from all the time he’s spent with Bailly, they’ll make Dembele feel right at home in the physio room.

Matth, what are you thoughts on Dembele?

Ole said back in august that we’d ‘exploit’ the market due to covid. Now he’s saying he was wrong and doing the whole ‘I’m happy with my squad’ schtick.

Looks like our summer of business is over.

I think we’ll get Telles. Then flail around trying to get a forward only to end up with Josh King for £20m on deadline day.

Rhian Brewster

Total of four appearances (inc. as a sub) for Liverpool, none of which came in the PL. 11 goals in 22 games on loan at Championship Swansea. Flogged to Sheff United for a reported £23.5M.

Chris Smalling

Close to 400 senior appearances, over 30 international caps. One of Série A’s top performing CBs last season. Still in his prime with two years left on his United contract. More than one club interested, but struggling to get either to stump up £15M.

We are just horrible at transfers

Genuine question as I don’t really know the ins and outs but could the Tom Brady deal have taken any money away from the United transfer fund? I’ve seen people saying they’re two separate entities in the same business but could there be anything in it?

We came top 4 last season so perhaps the Glazers feel we’re doing well enough not to need any big injections of money and they’re prioritising Tampa this year.

Dunno, business/American football experts put me right please.

No is the answer. We wouldn’t have spent so long piiiiiissing about trying to sign Sancho if there was no intention of big money being invested in the squad.

True but weren’t we trying to pay much less upfront?

It's really holding the club back.

With the strong finances, number of youth products who end up playing league football and policy of signing younger players, we have the foundations for great recruitment.

I doubt it had an impact.

I might be mistaken but my understanding was that the Glazers don’t interfere with Woodwards running of the club and it’s clear the Glazers don’t inject funds into the club

to be fair he was actually misquoted in april, what he actually said was that "covid will allow us to exploit the fans"

Yes but that has nothing to do with Tom Brady. The Bucs are under the salary cap, no money from United - or the owners back pockets - is funding that deal.

About time they started interfering with Ed's running of the club
