OP
Very early days and I expect Liverpool and City to come through and show that they are ahead of the rest.
Chelsea may surprise a few - Silva and Mendy are fantastic acquisitions.
Could a smaller team win it? Of course it's possible and more so this year, but still extremely unlikely imo.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’m with you on everything but CIty there is something not quite right there and should they fail to win the CL this year I think Pep will go or be pushed.
I would love to see someone odd win it if not Spurs - Palace would be amazing, I know a few stripy nigels.

No it’s because what you perceive as a weakness for Liverpool you then see as a strength for us.
Liverpool lost 7-2, but it’s only 3 points, we’ve already dropped more than they have and they have played Everton, Arsenal and Chelsea already - we will be lucky to get 4 points from the same fixtures.
I love your optimism and you are entitled to your view of course, but often it comes across as bitterness towards Liverpool.

Sensible comments there from you.
It depends whether we can sign a top centre back in january.
Leeds look good and have an outside chance of winning it. They are good drilled in how they want to play the game and don't rely on individual players too much.
Leeds are going to finish top ten for sure. Maybe even top 8.
Don’t think they will fare better than that, as the fixture toll on a small squad will be significant

Considering aside of City our nearest challenger was 33 points behind us last season I really can't see how, unless City pick it up, we don't win the league.
I cannot see a 40 point swing between us and Spurs, the mentality point made earlier is spot on.
We play poorly and ground out wins, Spurs play brilliantly and come away with a point.
Hallmark of a top 4 side and nothing more.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There is no such thing as a 40 point swing. Every season is different. All teams started on a level playing field. I never quite get all the nonsense about points swings from one season to another. It is a load of rubbish made up by the media.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But I don't think we are a worse team at all than last year. Losing VVD is big but so is signing Thiago and Jota, so can't see us losing many more points than last season.
I also don't think Spurs have improved from last season enough to be getting 90+ points.
Yup. We will concede more but will certainly score more.

It’s the 40 point swing thing that is nonsense, currently Spurs need a 2 point swing on Liverpool. Liverpool have been great these last 2 years but they have to go out and earn those points again - for instance you beat Villa away last year whereas we are 2 points better off this season than we were in the corresponding fixtures last year - but have we really started closing the gap on Liverpool?

Leeds aren’t winning it, Bielsa teams always burn out in the second half of the season, everywhere he has been as he demands too much running in both games and training.
It happened already in his first season at Leeds - 3 losses in the first half of the season followed by 10 losses in the second half. Last year they got a month break due to COVID right around the time it usually goes tiiiits up

Deadinthehead if the 40 point swing stands then technically Sandy is right, you beat Villa.
However by the same metric that the 40 point swing is complete balls, so is saying Liverpool are a poorer side for losing one game 7-2

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well you clearly are worse, did you lose 7-2 to Villa, did you draw with Everton?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Imagine basing your entire argument on an anomaly.

I always wondered why our fans were called delusional as all the ones I know aren’t , but Sandy I hate to say it but you do come across like that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Striketeams, what just because I give a differing view to others. Strange everybody`s opinion has to be the same.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No it’s because what you perceive as a weakness for Liverpool you then see as a strength for us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sensible comments there from you.
It depends whether we can sign a top centre back in january.
Leeds look good and have an outside chance of winning it. They are good drilled in how they want to play the game and don't rely on individual players too much.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Leeds aren’t winning it, Bielsa teams always burn out in the second half of the season, everywhere he has been as he demands too much running in both games and training.
It happened already in his first season at Leeds - 3 losses in the first half of the season followed by 10 losses in the second half. Last year they got a month break due to COVID right around the time it usually goes tiiiits up

When his forearm made contact with his shoulder and his hand glanced his face?
We calling them elbows now are we?

it’s comments like this that led to the entire nation laughing at the so called injustices Liverpool are still mourning from the Merseyside derby.

Deadinthehead if the 40 point swing stands then technically Sandy is right, you beat Villa.
However by the same metric that the 40 point swing is complete balls, so is saying Liverpool are a poorer side for losing one game 7-2
