Trump was doing great before Covid but the Democrats, liberals would never admit it, especially the famous hypocrites who have careers to think about.
Yes he's handled it abysmally but so has our useless government.
Biden will be an utter disaster, a man that literally can't string a sentence together and just dithers about the place. At least Trump has something about him whether you agree with him or not.

Have you ever seen any video of Trump, trying to speak using a teleprompter or even when he goes of script?
Also, Trump has something - I'm not sure if those words to describe him would be allowed on this site.
Scary that there's even a discussion on Trump being re-elected.
both are really poor candidates and prone to gaffs.

The american election is like the fooking x factor
4 years ago hilary was more focused on dancing on stage with Jon bon Jovi than telling the american voter what she was going to do to improve their lives
The elections in America are more and more becoming like those in third world countries.
That country seems extremely divided and polarized , voter suppression for ethnic minirority groups , Trump keeps saying he's likely not to accept the results if he loses and now they're talking about how it could be weeks before the final results are known
This is quite embarrassing.
But that won't stop them from sending elections "monitors" to other countries to make sure they hold fair and transparent elections ... you know , like in America

Daleks aren’t robots
Biden makes the odd gaffe but he performed respectfully in one-to-one debates - bested Bernie Sanders, who no one has argued is senile or inarticulate, for example. The notion that both candidates are equally flawed or equally inarticulate is absolute rubbish. Biden makes the odd gaffe. Trump can barely EVER utter a coherent sentence or express an idea without veering off into a different one. Biden has done the usual politician's game of putting forward a vision and programme that he hopes can secure the support of a coalition of voters sufficient to get a plurality of the votes in enough votes to win the electoral college. If you ask him why vote for him, you'll get a reasonably coherent answer. If you listen to Trump, you'll get an alarming stream of consciousness featuring lies, spurious conspiracy theories, sinister authoritarian threats, bizarre asides and self-contradiction. Biden is a mediocre, centrist candidate who operates within democratic norms. Trump is corrupt, mendacious and dangerous without precedent in the White House. His re-election strategy now rests on trying to suppress voting and prevent votes from being counted via the courts. Let's drop this 'both sides' BS.

That's politics unfortunately. There will undoubtedly be better candidates than Biden in the Democrat party but its more about who owes who favours and who will scratch who's back.
You watch Obama give his speeches the past week or so and you're reminded of how a proper leader acts and sounds. Unfortunately, and its happened here for the past decade too, the left keeps handicapping itself by appointing unelectable leaders - and for that it takes a lot of responsibility for these incompetent buffoons in charge.
Having said all that, if I were an American voter i'd consider Biden the lesser of 2 evils by an absolute country mile.

I'm really curious where you come to the conclusion that Biden is a historically bad candidate. Do you mean substabtively, in which case are you basing that on his political skills (and what do you make of his decades of experience, hands-on VP, Senator with record of bi-partisanship) or his policy platform? Or is it on his basic electability, in which case, why do the objective fact that he has a net positive rating in a country that's fiercely polarised (NB both Trump and Clinton were net negative in popularity ratings in 2016, and Trump remains underwater in 2020)? What about the fact that he seems to have suceeded in uniting a coalition stretching from Lincoln Project Republicans who worked for George W Bush to the likes of Noam Chomsky on the left (and both ends of that coalition disagree with him profoundly on fundamental policy matters)? What objectively makes him such a bad candidate?
I think there's a bit of an epidemic of 'both sides' journalism going around these days. Reporters want to be impartial, so they try to keep halfway between the two antagonists in any election. But that doesn't help us when one side breaks all the rules of democracy.
The odd gaffe? I stopped taking the post seriously after that.
