For argument's sake, if the polls prove to be correct this time and Biden is 10% ahead in the popular vote and comfortably wins the EC (I don't know whether that's going to happen BTW), will those who argue he was a terrible choice as a candidate revise their view?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I won't, because people would be voting against Trump rather than for Biden.
I also fear Trump will win.

By the way Sat Nav, you said that Biden is 'corrupt' as part of your 'both sides' narrative. What are the precise instances of corruption? Hopefully you can provide something more concrete than Fox/Breitbart insinuations to substantiate this assertion.

Yes he's handled it abysmally but so has our useless government.

Ok VC you clearly don’t know what this is and cannot answer simple questions about it despite knowing more than I do about US politics so that means by your own words that you don’t know about an important civil rights issue but someone that apparently knows less than your dog knows is aware of it.
School choice is the debate as to whether kids in public schools should be allowed to go to another location where the schools are better to receive their education. Having this choice would predominantly benefit those in poorer communities and would indeed benefit the black community a lot. Democrats oppose this whereas Republicans (including racist Trump) support it.
Why do the democrats oppose such a beneficial choice for the underprivileged? Teachers Unions.
Anywhere from 30%-44% of teachers in such areas with underperforming schools, with children of school age send there kids to alternative schools (out of their district or private schools). It’s ok for others but not for my own. Both Obama’s went to alternative/private schools and benefitted greatly from it, but they both oppose school choice.
So when you agreed with Biden when he said that if you vote Trump you ain’t black and said that black people shouldn’t vote for a racist (Trump) and by implication should vote for Biden, here is one glaring example when this is patently not the case. Not to mention the other policies that Just Shoot listed and others that he didn’t.
But you know: "Unlike the African American community, with notable exceptions, the Latino community is an incredibly diverse community with incredibly diverse attitudes about different things," Joe Biden (non racist)

Biden makes the odd gaffe but he performed respectfully in one-to-one debates - bested Bernie Sanders, who no one has argued is senile or inarticulate, for example. The notion that both candidates are equally flawed or equally inarticulate is absolute rubbish. Biden makes the odd gaffe. Trump can barely EVER utter a coherent sentence or express an idea without veering off into a different one. Biden has done the usual politician's game of putting forward a vision and programme that he hopes can secure the support of a coalition of voters sufficient to get a plurality of the votes in enough votes to win the electoral college. If you ask him why vote for him, you'll get a reasonably coherent answer. If you listen to Trump, you'll get an alarming stream of consciousness featuring lies, spurious conspiracy theories, sinister authoritarian threats, bizarre asides and self-contradiction. Biden is a mediocre, centrist candidate who operates within democratic norms. Trump is corrupt, mendacious and dangerous without precedent in the White House. His re-election strategy now rests on trying to suppress voting and prevent votes from being counted via the courts. Let's drop this 'both sides' BS.

I've been following the polling obsessively. All the authorities in psephology and modelling are saying the best modelling gives Biden a 8-10% lead nationally and leads in most of the swing states. Most are giving him about 80-90% probability of victory. Most anti-Trump people are nevertheless crapping themselves because the polls were wrong last time (though they'd have to be more wrong this time), it's challenging to model this election because of the unusual circumstances / high turnout / high early voting, and if it's at all close Trump will obviously try to use the courts, which he has stacked to throw out votes. The signs are objectively quite promising but no one on the liberal side is going Poolmyfinger about things because of 2016 PTSD (and because few people are as obnoxious as him).

I chose the word 'candidate' carefully. Aside from whether he could be a good president, there's a question about whether he's a good choice to beat Trump. Some have suggested another candidate would have won more easily. I'm not so sure. Biden did well in the Dem primaries on the strength of the Black vote, having been unpopular with the hip young white college demographic. They wanted a more radical candidate. Black voters tend to feel the stakes of losing much more acutely, and prioritise electability.

I think him being a “useful idiot’ to Putin should be very concerning internationally let alone North Korea going ahead with its Nuclear Programme unchecked and him now allowing Iran to go ahead.
You can admire his Mid East peace deal though. If only he could have got the actual protagonists with Israel to sign it.

You think another leader would have done better on Iran and N Korea? This goes back to before Trump.
Also, how do you envisage Trump-Putin realistically endangering the world in the next few years?

But I’m not going to live in fear and I don’t favor shutting everything down - and killing the economy - over a death rate that is approximately 3-4% in the US.
Also, even if I wasn’t a Trump supporter, I’d still vote for him than anything the Democrats come up with as PUNISHMENT for the last four years of pure bullsh*t those b’stards have been doing.
And frankly I don’t give a toss about whatever response I get to this because at least I know where I stand while you clowns can’t figure out whether to pee standing up or sitting down.

But Trumps in charge, its different.

For argument's sake, if the polls prove to be correct this time and Biden is 10% ahead in the popular vote and comfortably wins the EC (I don't know whether that's going to happen BTW), will those who argue he was a terrible choice as a candidate revise their view?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I wouldn’t, no. If he has a successful term in office then I would but purely for winning the election? No.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I chose the word 'candidate' carefully.

By the way Sat Nav, you said that Biden is 'corrupt' as part of your 'both sides' narrative. What are the precise instances of corruption? Hopefully you can provide something more concrete than Fox/Breitbart insinuations to substantiate this assertion.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You first seeing you labelled Trump corrupt first, it’s only fair.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
You think another leader would have done better on Iran and N Korea? This goes back to before Trump.
Also, how do you envisage Trump-Putin realistically endangering the world in the next few years?

Imagine voting for somebody who told you a virus would be gone soon only for 230,000 and counting to die.
That’s insane.

The point was clearly imagine voting for someone who said this that and the other. I am pointing to the fact that others including democrats said similar also.

Fair enough, you did say candidate as GT pointed out also. That would make him a successful candidate in that he won, yes. But I wouldn’t put it all down to him. Trump helps no end.
Personally I’m more interested in good presidents than candidates being successful at winning the election. This also is similar to why I’m not keen on the current democrats because the next in line is not a lady that I’m a fan of.

The Democrats have chosen such a poor candidate. If they could have found somebody, smart dynamic and young it would have been no contest.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't want to appear ageist 52 but in my opinion trump and biden are too old. Both in their 70s and cannot possibly have similar opinions to voters in say their 20s and 30s.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree, and nothing wrong in being ageist. I'm not the man I was, 30 is too young, 40 to 60 is about right. Had time to learn something and the energy to do something

Clinton wouldn’t have scrapped the Iran deal. And she wouldn’t have given in to Kim either. And believe me I really don’t like her.

Ah Kim, the man who was going to blow up the world not so long ago. How did that go?
Clinton would've been all over him like a rash and dropping more bombs than Obama.

I don't know anything about Biden so don't comment. But I know someone thick when I watch and hear him a lot, and that's Trump.
Oh and a liar of course. Puussy grabbing is another endearing habit I suppose to his fans
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Biden is also all of those things including the last. Of course not everyone talks about that....
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why does everyone talk about Trump doing it then. Could it be that he bragged about it, when he was being Presidential. And do you answer every Trump criticism with, But what about...

Trump was doing great before Covid but the Democrats, liberals would never admit it, especially the famous hypocrites who have careers to think about.
Yes he's handled it abysmally but so has our useless government.
Biden will be an utter disaster, a man that literally can't string a sentence together and just dithers about the place. At least Trump has something about him whether you agree with him or not.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hitler had something about him, so did Lenin, and Mao. Good reasons to vote for them
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That Pol Pot also had charisma......

I’m a Trump supporter. I wear a mask - but only because businesses require it. I don’t argue or make a scene because I don’t like wearing one.
