Good article, Edinspur
My issue with Jose has always been his style of football. Last season, before the lockdown, we were in terrible form and I won't deny that I wanted him out.
Since the football resumed, results picked up, but I found that most performances were as turgid as before. I didn't think it would be possible to maintain the results for long. But we have and I am glad I was wrong on that.
Performances are now beginning to improve. They are still not fun to watch as I spend most the games with my heart in my mouth. But I am beginning to learn that the football I want to see, is not possible under Jose. So results are therefore paramount.
This is why, for me, Jose must win a trophy AND qualify for the CL. He has to outdo Poch.
Under Poch, we played the best football I have ever seen at the Lane. And although we won nothing, I will always remember his tenure at the club with pride.

Although the club was definitely right to bin Poch off I was by no means sure that Jose was the correct man to inherit the shambles he left behind. However I was more than happy to give him to the end of this season to sort things out and so far its all good.
I guess some folk who were very against him taking over just haven't got the minerals to admit that they are being proved wrong.
Its weird one though if you can't enjoy being top of the league then why bother following a football team at all? Maybe brass rubbings or pottery would be a more apt way of passing the time.

Christ. I had to debate the idea of giving the manager a chance after a few games. The atmosphere on some of the match threads was ridiculous. He's doing a good job. It's not a disaster, the football isn't terrible, Kane is doing better than ever.. just own it if you were wrong and ignore the threads about Jose doing a good job if you can't.

Can I ask, was your username amended to the way it is after the sacking of Poch & appointment of Mourinho? If so, then you’re in no position to be annoyed about others gloating when we win, as you’re needlessly and incorrectly implying our clubs facked due to having Jose at the helm. (Apologies if your username has nothing to do with this, but thats how it looks).

I like to think Spurs supporters are very different from the plastics of Chelsea and City, and the glory supporters of Pool and United.
But there will always be a few that lower themselves to the those kind of levels of stupidity.

The question has always been whether short term gain is worth the inevitable long term pain. I personally don't think it will be, and I'm not looking forward to the Mourinho implosion.
As for higher standards... That's just the way it works. When a manager comes with the track record and baggage of Mourinho, and when they get EXACTLY the backing they ask for in the transfer window, then their safety key disappears. He has to win trophies or it's a failure, just like it would have been if Pochettino or any other manager had got the backing Mourinho had this summer.
To answer the question in the OP though Edin... Yes, it's facking annoying, but then certain posters seem to make it their life goal to always take the contrarian viewpoint, so to a degree it's just the same as it's always been.
