This site has been ruined by a small number of children/wums who post article after article about how right they are and then filter anyone who disagrees with them. This site is now a clique created by those few.

It’s a shame I used to love coming on here but they have ruined it

They know who they are.

Can I ask, was your username amended to the way it is after the sacking of Poch & appointment of Mourinho? If so, then you’re in no position to be annoyed about others gloating when we win, as you’re needlessly and incorrectly implying our clubs facked due to having Jose at the helm. (Apologies if your username has nothing to do with this, but thats how it looks).
----------------------------------------------------------------------

My username is due to how I feel about being priced out of attending spurs matches since the opening of the new stadium.

In my view as an outsider, it was ever thus on this board. They do the rest of you Spurs fans no favours whatsoever.

I agree with you and I have my suspicions that some of them may not be spurs fans at all

Fair enough

Was asking as I find the irony of people moaning about “Jose Cultists” and their gloating quite amusing, given their own usernames have Jose-out style taglines. If you’re gonna call yourself Mourinho-out or NowayJose (when we’re top of the league!), then suck up a bit of gloating as you’ve helped fan the flames of the “cultists” and deserve a bit of humble pie!

Got nothing against Jose. I’m just sad I can’t afford to take my children to spurs the way my dad and grandad did.

The new stadium prices took that away from us.

Speaking as someone who used to be a hardcore Jose cultist, it is something that just comes with the territory with him now.

It's quite bizarre. He used to be a guy whose energy & charisma united an entire club behind him, and now he's a guy whose controversy & pettiness is guaranteed to divide the entire fanbase upon arrival. Just one of many things that makes his career trajectory so fascinating.

I'm really looking forward to our game coming up this weekend. I've got no clue who's winning.

My issue has never been about the short term. Everyone knew Mourinho would probably have a good second season with a chance at a trophy (though I'll admit I never thought it would be one of the major ones like the Prem; granted it still might not be). The question has always been whether short term gain is worth the inevitable long term pain. I personally don't think it will be, and I'm not looking forward to the Mourinho implosion.

—————

This for me.

Also we’re top after 9 games - I wouldn’t say this proves anything. I don’t need trophies to know whether Jose is a success or not, but 9 games is meaningless.

Fingers crossed though it continues and Jose decides to spend 4,5,6 years at the club so there is some joined up long term planning

I dunno, I'm a little worried. You know it's killing Mourinho that he's never properly got his revenge against us yet and this is the perfect opportunity for him to do it. He'll never manage Spurs again, it's season two for him, it's at Stamford Bridge, and Spurs are playing alright.

If we did win by 3 goals it would be bloody hilarious though

Grow up

Mourinho is a professional who is at Tottenham now. He doesn’t have a childish grudge against Chelsea, he just views them as a another teamnow. Chelsea fans are the only ones who have this weird hatred of mourinho.

Chin up, Edin. Already 9 games into the season, only 29 more to come.

Yeah you're a mess Sizzle. You've already said you won't get behind the manager whatever happens so your opinion is pretty meaningless.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
All opinions on here are meaningless.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not if it's justified and open for discussion. You have repeatedly stated you're closed minded about the manager so there's literally no point in trying to discuss it with you. You are a big part of the reason the threads Edin is crying about exist.

What’s your problem?

They're taking the Mickey out of people for being negative about our manager. It's big boy time, just say yeah I was wrong about it, and we can all move on.

Well not really. It’s very ‘I told you so, you can’t enjoy this blah blah blah’ whenever we win.

I think most people who didn’t want Jose have warmed to him or at least are happy to give him time. I also think (like me) there are a lot of people who knew Jose had the quality but didn’t like the “winning at all costs” mentality - as It’s not what I get out of football, I get my personal gratification outside of football and I love the process and attractive which Jose *typically* isn’t associated with. I’m very happy with us at the moment and am pleasantly surprised with how we’re doing.

Though I definitely see you point about enjoying different aspects of football. I really enjoyed the City game. A proper tactical battle, the kind that a manager with Jose's experience relishes, and the kind we need to be winning if we want real success at the club.

Yeah I didn’t mind it at all, and am really enjoying the football we are playing this season. Much more so than I thought I would. I love the process, the CL semi-final is the best moment of my time supporting Spurs. Unless we win the league season I don’t think anything will trump that. I’m very happy with us this season, I just hate the continual cheap shots from two of the most fickle fans on this forum.

Mate. When Lucas scored I screamed and jumped out of my chair in an office full of very quiet, polite Canadians. Such an epic moment. I think I made a few new Spurs fans that day

I think the cheap shots are coming from both sides. Making a thread to call people out for calling people out..? I mean, aside from that being openly in support of the Spurs manager shouldn't be something to be mocked for. You've gone too far there. And name calling isn't helpful is it?

I'm only chipping in here because you know I can't stand the moaning about what might happen. If and when it all goes bad sure, but to see negativity even after a great performance and result is just sad to be honest. It's strange because that kind of post is usually made in the 'I just want to enjoy football' vein while actively being miserable about it.

I don’t really get people’s point about whether the short term gain is worth the long term pain with regards to José.

Aside from Poch and Redknapp, our recent managers haven’t lasted long at all, so 2 or 3 years of José with some success would be awesome.

I don’t see why he won’t last a decent amount of time with us though.

Because this is his 9th management job and he's yet to last more than 3 years at a single one of them.

And at the last 3, he's left the club in an absolute hole. I think it's quite reasonable for fans to think about the medium- to long-term picture for the club, and not just what will happen in the current season.

Is he being singled out for the 3 year term though?

Look at our last managers, excluding Poch and Redknapp:

Sherwood 6 months
AVB 1 yr 5 months
Ramos 1 year
Jol 3 years
Santini 1 year 5 months
Pleat 9 months

It’s not like every other manager lasts 10 years and Mourinho is the exception to the rule.
