Castle you've done all this research but missed that Oxford / Astra are doing it non-profit.
The other two Pfizer/ BioNtech and Moderna were also being worked on for years like Oxford only with a focus on cancer vaccination iirc which imho is just as exciting for leverage.
The Pfizer can be stored at refrigeration temperatures for up to 5 days before use so the transport and logistics are not all that onerous.

Astra are actually taking a cheeky little 20%...

Should be fairly simple though - it's not rocket science after all...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He has offered an opinion
What's yours ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As I said above - half the UK population done by this time next year and perhaps all those who want to receive it complete by maybe the summer of 2022.

You don't deserve much else of a response.
"This is just about the logistics of getting vaccines produced and distributed to areas then injecting people. That's it, it's not rocket sience."
Do you not understand what is involved here? It's not a case of 'That's it, it's not rocket SCIENCE'. This is an unprecedented scale of immunisation for the UK and you think it's that simple and we will be all good for Easter?
Your use of WWII IS a p!ss poor analogy - it really is. How exactly are we going to have 'tons of people' involved in this? This is not a case of people having to 'Dig for Britain' because our imports weren't getting through due to U-Boats! You are going to have your normal medical professionals (who will also be dealing with their usual Winter load) and some squaddies.
As for Track & Trace involving a small group of people - you are very much mistaken and, IIRC, has cost the country nigh on £14bn and it is/was a shambles.
Seriously - if you think this vaccine is going to be rolled out to all by March then you are clearly living in a utopia which I would like to visit.
________________________
Did you miss the start of the pandemic when the government had meetings with all supermarkets and they solved the distribution problems due to panic buying? Did you miss the logistics involved with this which was helped by the government? Again last done in WW2
Did you miss the Nightingale hospitals put up across the nation by the government with the army? When was the last time anything like this was done apart from WW2?
Did you ignore the fact that the government has already says they are putting plans in place to get vaccines out and will be using Football stadiums, parks with army tents. GP surgeries open and having drive-through vaccine centres? You ignored the fact, nurses, doctors, army, navy, airforce, dentists, physiotherapists and anyone who can be trained to give these vaccines are going to be trained in giving them.
There is zero chance the government is gonna wait on this until this time next year. The cost to the economy would be far too high and that's why you are completely wrong. They will do everything possible to get this done before Easter in the main.

Of course Astra with shareholders expecting dividends would do this for nothing...

They aren't doing it for nothing, they will make money down the line. Some companies at the start did want to help humanity when they saw the world in lockdown. But they will make money down the line on this.

The desire of some to always be cynical never ceases to amaze me.
I never, at any point, said they were always doing this for free. I’m only pointing out some accuracy in the conversation. Personally, I don’t have a problem with a company making money.
Just pointing out an inaccuracy which was posted saying that they were doing this 'not for profit'.
No need for pantie-wetting.
As for evidence of the mass vaccination program where every available person will trained to give out the vaccine. The government has already made new laws to allow it.

Outstanding retort.
You seem to have very little arguments backing up your points Uboat.
You like being a little b1tcch moaning for drama.
Now what's more likely, the government making new emergency laws to get mass vaccination done by Easter to get the economy up and running again, thus saving billions for the economy.
Or your way Uboat whereby, the government made new vaccine administration laws for a laugh and we all just go to the local GP's and take ages for a vaccine rollout and have lockdown for another year, cost more jobs, billions more for the economy and it's done by this time next year.
Now what is more likely from a logical standpoint? Answers on a postcard people.

This is just the start - those who are deemed to receive the vaccine first.
"England's deputy chief medical officer Jonathan Van-Tam urged patience over the rollout of the Pfizer/BioNTech jab, which begins early next week.
But care home residents will have to wait due to logistical challenges.
And it could take until April for all those most at-risk to receive the new vaccine, according to the head of NHS England."
Now - that is just for those who are 'most at risk'. You then have the rest of the population on top of that and you expect everyone to be done by March?

Haha - pint of whatever Castle is having in his virtual pub please, bar person. Cheers.

So what did I say that was wrong exactly?

AstraZeneca aren’t taking any profit until it’s agreed that the pandemic is over, with July being the earliest that can be agreed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So essentially they aren't doing this gratis?
Of course Astra with shareholders expecting dividends would do this for nothing...
The naivety of people sometimes astounds me.

Of course you know everything - you trained as a lawyer, didn't you?
I remember you making that quite well known to all and sundry on here...

Are you really as naive as you sound?
FFS - For someone who claims they trained as a lawyer - you aren't half living in a life where all is perfect.
Seriously - do you actually think before you type, my learned friend?
FFS - Please tell me that you haven't progressed and are now at 'the Bar'?

This is just the start - those who are deemed to receive the vaccine first.
"England's deputy chief medical officer Jonathan Van-Tam urged patience over the rollout of the Pfizer/BioNTech jab, which begins early next week.
But care home residents will have to wait due to logistical challenges.
And it could take until April for all those most at-risk to receive the new vaccine, according to the head of NHS England."
Now - that is just for those who are 'most at risk'. You then have the rest of the population on top of that and you expect everyone to be done by March?
Cuckoo!

So you completely ignored all the sources I posted? The most at risk, that's the major people who need it you muppet.
