Why aren’t you answering the question
How will the proposals change domestic league football?
It will take away the dream however small of teams qualifying for the Champions league through their league position. Yes I suppose if Leeds or Villa or Everton finish 4th next season they will possibly be invited to take part but I doubt if Norwich, Burnley or Watford, Bournemouth or Brentford finish in the top 4 they will be invited.
The likes of Portsmouth Wigan, Wimbledon Bolton and Blackburn who have previously earnt the right to play Europe's best will have their chance to do this again taken away by this soulless idea.
If the Premier league carry out their threat to expel these rebel sides it may weaken slightly the TV pulling power and any new broadcasting deal with sky etc but fans and clubs would get used to it and adapt accordingly.
It will be a crying shame though if this is allowed to happen.

What is this top six you speak off
Man City weren’t top six clubs 10 years ago,
It runs in cycles.
Leeds dominate 60/70.
Everton had wonderful 80’s
This stops the cycle dead.
It kills football
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn't say top 6. I said big 6 which is a pretty accepted term in the current discussion. Apologies if you didn't understand that.
The fact that you have to go back to the 60/70 sort of says it all though. Since the advent of the PL, when money became even more prominent, only the richer clubs regularly win things.
Man Utd won more 4 league titles between 1992 and 1997. This is the same number of domestic competitions Leeds won in the entirety of the 60s and 70s (2 titles, 1 fa cup, 1 league cup). Finances have dominated football for decades already

All football leagues get dominated by a relatively small number of clubs, it's always happened. I'm not going to research, but i'd imagine the English league is pretty competitive in comparison. 13 out of 84, not ideal, but probably better than many.
Just because a club is en-vogue at this moment in time, like Man C, who Liw points out were struggling not all that long ago, shouldn't mean leagues get ripped apart. I suspect you'd be waking up with a totally different perspective this morning if "pool" weren't part of this rubbish.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Most countries don't have a big 6 like England. It is usually concentrated in even fewer teams. In Italy, Juventus and the two Milan clubs have dominated. In Spain it is the big 2. Germany it is Bayern and arguably Dortmund.
If Liverpool were not part of the proposal it would have no different effect on me. As I have always maintained, I watch their games whether they are playing Madrid, or West Ham, or Doncaster. If pool weren't invited to this tournament I simply wouldn't watch it, just as I don't watch the CL when we don't qualify, and I rarely watch the FA Cup once we have been knocked out.
Man City wasn’t the big 6 ten years ago
Finance always dominated.
The problem now is, nobody can join the club.
Ten years ago Man City wouldn’t have been anywhere it
Answer the question, how many games you get you ???
It’s a simple question
This season only 5 clubs can make Europe, so there isn't a big 6 this year.
Interesting mention of ice skating case where skaters were told they would not be allowed to compete if they went to this unauthorised competition and they won their case.
I believe that if you have a league, it is up to you if someone joins or not, they should not expect a right to be able to join your club (league/competition).
This has the potential to really split football, maybe into something like boxing with multiple organisations, competitions etc.
We already see a hugely disconnected sport in terms of obscene salaries, lack of loyalties and the disrespect for contracts.
One had hoped the pandemic might provide a positive reset for many things, but at a time when grass roots clubs are desperate to stay afloat these obscene sums with this disregard for fans is utterly wrong.

Interesting that you feel the need to try to claim some sort of superiority by being a "bigger" fan than someone. Bit weird but if it makes you feel better then good for you.
Tell me, how many Welsh Premier league games have you gone to? If it is fewer than me does that make me a bigger actual fan of football since I watch amateur games? You see how ridiculous it becomes?
Why would I watch games in another country 😂😂😂😂

Ah so do you steadfastly refuse to watch your team if they are drawn away to Cardiff or Swansea in the cup? It is a game in another country. Howabout European games?
I notice that when your superiority as a fan gets challenged by a new criteria it is suddenly laughable. Very insecure.
Must be nice though, having the moral superiority to tell anyone who isn't wealthy enough to have 3 subscriptions and a season ticket thay they are too poor for you to consider them real fans. Seems somewhat unfair to me but there we are.
So you don’t even pay for subscription 😂😂😂
You couldn’t make it up.
You call yourself a football fan but is justifying football getting destroyed by a greedy six.
I think this whole idea seems to be orchestrated by American Billionaire owners so we as Leeds fans should be wary of the 49ers potentially owning the majority of our great club and potentially negotiating us into this group of soulless enterties.

I've not commented on whether I have a subscription or not. So that is simply an assumption on your part.
Imagine being so elitist and exclusionary that you feel you get to decide who counts as a football fan based on things such as whether they are poor or not. Imagine trying to claim this higher position as a "better" football fan whilst at the same time laughing at the very suggestion of watching a foreign league.
Essentially, because I have disagreed with you and questioned your claims on this article, you have decided to try and justify your opinion being more qualified because you are presumably wealthy enough to afford a season ticket and a sky subscription. All because the logic of your claims was questionable and it was easier to try and deflect than discuss it.

If you can’t see the huge differences, well, what can I say.
Football in the 80’s was dying, premier league, while not perfect, been a huge success.

The deals that were struck were aimed at benefitting the rich clubs, the premier league ever presents have grown fat on the back of the media contracts at the expense of everyone else. This is a direct consequence of what happened back then. It was inevitable.

Also Man city play at a stadium they dont own and get on a subsidised lease. This stadium was built using public money so tell them to find a new home. If the football clubs of europe allow this to take place then football as we know it will be dead in a few years

Again, someone resorting to personal abuse because they cannot discuss this issue without getting overly emotional.
Man City pay rent on they stadium that they don't own, which provides the council with millions of pounds per year. Whilst they are perfectly entitled to not renew the lease, it then leaves them with a shortfall of millions of pounds per year unless they can find a new tenant willing and able to pay that.
The Premier League is also presumably able to vote to kick them out if 14 of the clubs agree. Will they do so, if it means their own revenue is reduced because of the loss of these clubs? Will the owners of West Ham, or Newcastle be keen to potentially cut their own income?
ay that.
