You can't be the best spurs player of the last 50 years and not be a club legend because you're being a bit of a caaant when you're trying to leave
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Don’t agree at all. If Harry moved to Arsenal, would you say the same thing ? Him being our best player in 50 years has no relevance if he’s disrespectful of the club and supporters. Reputation and legacy can vanish just like that in football. Nearly happened with Gerrard and 100% it would have happened if he moved to Chelsea. Liverpool fans were burning Gerrard shirts, so it can happen.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There's huge difference between trying to force his way out to join city and trying to force his way out to join arsenal. It's totally incomparable.

As long as what he's doing now doesn't escalate then all will be forgotten, just like with modric and bale
----------------------------------------------------------------------

But your point was a player of his class for us and him trying to leave by being a cuuuuuuunt shouldn’t take away his legendary status, but on the other hand you are saying “if it’s Arsenal it’s different”. Can’t have it both ways mate. If Harry would of acted respectfully and allowed Spurs to possibly look at a transfer fee that is what want, instead of coming out towards the end of the season doing Gary Neville interviews expressing his desire to move Manchester City ( literally name checking their players ) he wouldn’t get this much stick.

he will be remembered as a great striker that left in a sour way.

might eventually get a warm reception at the lane, but not for a while.

also, talking about kane is getting so boring

The only person responsible for Kane's actions are Kane.

If he didn't want to be at Spurs after this window then he shouldn't have signed his new contract.

If he definitely wanted to leave in this window then he should have negotiated something in his contract that would have allowed it to happen.

...

----------------------------------------------------------------------
What a load of tosh.

He signed a long term contract in 2018 because he was told by Levy that Spurs were committed to supporting both him & then manager Pochettino. Neither of which happened, Levy lied to get both to commit their futures to the club.

18 months later Poch was gone and the master of anti-football Mourinho was brought in.

How was Kane to know what Levy was going to do 18 months down the line?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How do you know what Levy said to Kane? You don`t, so keep your facking trap shut.

Not what I mean mate. I completely agree with asking for a high price. What needs to happen is get this thing sorted before the season starts. We don’t want this hanging over our head and another Frazier Campbell situation

football is an industry that changes very very quickly. sometimes its as simple as a manager coming or going to change the whole direction. committing to any employer for 6 years is a very long time, let alone an industry with the ups and downs of football.

i understand him wanting to go, but my sympathy level for him is at 0.

poor little lamb is only on 200k plus bonuses a week instead of 400k, and he has to play Roma in the europa conference league instead of Inter in the CL.

For me he keeps his status as a legend.

He has to do what he is doing because of Levy. He knows Levy is not going to bend over backwards to let Kane leave. I don't blame him. Mentally he has left Spurs. He needs to go. We should let him go. We are a shambles and Kane can see it.

We all said Kane deserves better last season and that still stands for me. Yes the way he is going about it rattles many but can you blame him?

Levy has let him and every Spurs fan down by "taking his eye of the team" as he put it in his DNA statement.

It will be painful to see him play in the prem every week but I hope it hurts Levy the most and reminds him of what a rubbish job he has done with the team and it will be a reminder of his own failings. Week in week out.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
He will have legendary stats doesn't mean people will see him as a legend and could be a while before he is welcomed or clapped by fans...this is what a legend commands. Can you return to your club and be cheered months or years after you left.

Harry Winks would die for your club yet many of your fans would happily throw him out on his ear if you got a half decent offer.

The reality is the most "loyal" party is the one who needs the other the most, if hypothetically speaking Kane stayed and his legs went, would Levy keep a what is now an average football taking a squad place as a 'loyalty' reward or would he start whoring him out to whoever the hell might take him? We all know exactly what he would do.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
People want Winks out because he is not good enough. Everyone wanted him to do well 3 or 4 years ago but he has not progressed. It would be best for all parties for him to move on.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly Winks would stay with you for life but you want him out because he's not good enough for where you're at.

Kane wants out because you simply ain't matching his ambition.

You can't whine about players showing lack of loyalty if you don't practice what you preach when the boots on the other foot.

every spurs fan gets him wanting to leave. but there is a way to go about it, and his actions from the neville interview onwards seem a bit snakey / mugging off the fans.

if you want to go so badly just put in a transfer request Harry. that will be much better received by the fans than current antics.

Kane played in three finals for spurs, including the biggest possible on the club stage. He could’ve won titles by now but he failed to turn up on each occasion. There were also countless semi finals he didn’t appear in.

He has proved another player who thinks he’s better than the club and has no regard for the fans who supported him.

Good riddance to him. What a disgrace.

Maybe I've just lost a bit of interest in spurs generally after the Mourinho debacle but none of this Kane stuff has really bothered me.

If he leaves I wish him all the best at City and of course for England.

If Harry wants to leave he should grow a pair and come out and say it with an official transfer request. Instead he fluttered his eye lids a city like a pubescent school girl and got his mate Gary Neville to ask them out for him.

All so he can keep his loyalty bonus and not look like the total cant he actually is.

Disgrace

Exactly. Levy and enic’s stock with the fans has never been lower. We would all agree with Harry. But he has proved himself a money grabbing coward who has no regard for the club or the fans.

He'll probably have something in his contract that means he won't get his golden handshake if he puts in a transfer request.

It's all about the money.

Read my earlier post. Despite what Kane is currently doing I have no issues with it. He is doing what he feels he needs to so. He wants out badly and I cannot blame him.

Alot of Spurs fans on here were saying he deserves better for months last season. We know it and he knows it.

He feels he needs to go down this route due to Levy. I have no issues with it. He is still a legend for me and should be for others.

You're not grasping what it is that's upsetting Spurs' fans, the vast majority have no problem with him wanting to move on due to a perceived lack of ambition by the owners of THFC, indeed many of us blame them for putting him in this position. No-one would accuse him of being disloyal if he went about seeking a move in a dignified and respectful manner. But the way he's going about it is unprofessional, ill-advised and a slap in the face to not only the fans but his fellow players.

Ridiculous to say he's a one season wonder in my opinion. He regularly scores against the bottom six and in the early stages of the Europa League season after season

Don, I am done with Kane as it stands, couldn`t care less if he never puts a Spurs shirt on again.

But like most supporters, I suppose if he does come back into the first team and scores, we will all quickly forget how he behaved.

My gut feeling now is that City will meet the £160 million asking price and he will go, which will be best all around.

We can then all boo him on his return.

posted on 5/8/21

For me he has forfeited any 'Spurs legend' status that was his for the taking by behaving in such a crass and puerile manner. I expected this sort of behaviour from mercenaries like Berbatov and Modric who clearly saw THFC as a stepping stone to supposedly bigger and better things (indeed it still sticks in my throat when I see Berbatov included in a parade of 'legends' at WHL). From someone who apparently has a deep emotional attachment to the club, it's simply unacceptable. I wonder if Man City fans will see him as a legend in two or three years time when his talent is on the wane and they splurge millions more on the next big thing? I suspect he'll be forgotten in an instant in favour of the current flavour of the month. Never mind, he can spend his retirement polishing the shiny baubles that he clearly so desperately wants, secure in the knowledge that he has alienated thousands of fans that used to idolise him. Apart from his likely return as an opposing player, I don't want him setting foot in WHL ever again
