I’m driving from Sydney to Perth next year so I’ll let you know if I bump into someone who puts my head on a stick. Through a medium.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

How far is that?

Are there really hillbilly sorts / hills have eyes places on your journey ?!

You may need a weapon …..

Not sure if it's been mentioned but Let the Right One in is up there. One of the best horrors of the last 15 years.

Is that the Swedish version ? Or the one with girl from kick ass?

The Swedish version was much better

It's the Swedish version. The other one is just Let Me In I believe but I haven't seen it. Not that interested either, I'm happy enough to read subtitles.

Perfect film. It was a crime that they remade it here in the US so quickly after the original came out. I have no intention of watching it as it’s completely unnecessary.

Devil - Host is fantastic. Such a surprise and genuinely good film in the found footage genre of which they’re are hard to come by.

So strange some people don’t love The Witch. A-level horror.

Some may disagree but I think the new Suspiria was fantastic. Soooo so different to the original that it’s more a reimagining than a remake.

I get into subtitled films more as you have to concentrate more for obvious reasons

I think Korea do excellent stuff and Train to Busan is a favourite , the effects are great

The other version is still worth a watch , the effects were better but didn’t have the same atmosphere as the Swedish one (you are right on the title ! My bad!)

I put subtitles on even some English-speaking films just in case I might miss anything. Wish I had done that with Tenet.

As above, The Wailing is a good Korean horror, although as with other films of that nature they often tread a thin path between comedy and horror. I Saw the Devil is another like that but also worth watching.

Americans are always doing that, remaking the foreign language ones soon after. Lack of sophistication as well as ideas.

Silly comment. Plenty of ideas here but they are turned down for guaranteed money makers. Same reason famous good looking people get acting gigs regardless of their actual acting ability.

Also A24 turns your comment on its head alone. Has both what you claim the US is lacking.

Oohhh The Last Matinee was released fairly recently and I loved it. Throwback to those 70s/80s giallo films. This is an Argentina release I highly recommend.

Drag Me to Hell could almost be seen as a remake to an old B&W film called Night of the Demon, which is where Kate Bush got the sample from at the beginning of Hounds of Love.
