Lucas, Gil and Bergwin might find their opportunities pretty limited because I think a 352 or 3412 suits Spurs' players far better than a 343, and those three players don't really fit in central roles.

Lucas maybe I suppose in a front 2, but he's not a natural fit. The other two might find themselves converted to wing backs like Moses, Perisic and Young

Can definitely see Conte trying to convert Bergwijn into a wing back. Also what will this mean for Royal who hasn’t exactly impressed going forward.

It's ironic isnt it that Levy, in being financially prudent in July and turning down Conte's demands, will now find himself paying out Nunos contract (£8m?) and in a much weaker negotiating position with Conte who will be demanding signings.

I respect Levy for being quite brutal in his decision making here but it typifies his failings in that actually it was a false economy to go for the cheap option. It costs us more in the end. A bit like our transfer policy - if we bought quality it might deliver more and create a better return than buying average/potential and achieving nothing - Who knows what Jose could have achieved with better defenders?

I cannot help but think that Levy wants Poch back and Nuno was an easily dispensable & cheap stop gap until Poch can return.

It would suit Son down to the ground too. Kane would need to buck his ideas up and make some effort because Conte asks a lot of his target man.

I think the only iffy positions are the deep lying playmaker - I don't think Ndombele, Hojbjerg or Skipp are suited - and the wider centre halves. Tanganga might work but I think the other side would be lacking.

The more I think about it the more I see Ndombele or Lo Celso thriving in a setup like that. Their main skill is press-breaking, either with quick passes through the lines or by dribbling past the first tackle, which is key to creating space for counters.

Kane has the game to play the Lukaku role but he would need to actually make an effort

I think his options at Inter were Hakimi, Moses, Perisic and Young. Only the first two of those are especially quick. Perisic isn't slow I guess but he's more of a physical presence than a flier like Hakimi, I would say.

I wasn't a fan of the appointment in the Summer because Conte just doesn't have a track record of hanging around for long and I wanted a long term Poch style replacement.

Now...this is 100% the right thing to do. He's the only manager available with the authority and pedigree to take hold of this squad and get them playing.

They didn`t back Mourinho properly, so what makes people think they will back Conte properly.

With the way Levy operates, Conte will last 5 minutes, he will eventually get pist off and either walk or make it impossible not to sack him.

It would be an exciting appointment, but Conte and Levy would be a marriage made in hell, I can`t see that ever working long term (should it happen, which it won`t).
