F1 is fixed

They broke the rules, they did not let all lapped F1 cars through - which should have happened and would not have allowed time for Verstappen to pass. They are both immense drivers but this ending leaves a sour taste.

Before anyone suggests I am a Hamilton fanboy I would add that generally I think Hamilton is the biggest twit outside the car and Verstappen is the biggest twit in it, however, Hamilton's finest hour has been the grace with which he has dealt with this situation.

Hamilton showed class kudos to him, I don’t know what I would have done if it were me.

Last week they allowed mercedes to get away with several attempts to corrupt the race. No one was crying then.

Football has been fixed forever especially since more and more money has come into it. Nba is another one that’s is outrageous. Nothing like a good old Hollywood script to make people tune in

its disgusting but nothing to do with the drivers, they did what they do. Hamilton drove perfectly again. Nothing he can do about that. Gz to Max. Fair play to how Hamilton handled it at the end too, very mature under the circumstances.

Even Max will be feeling his titles somewhat tainted, can't feel like he won that fair and square but he will take it.

by that i mean thats not how you want to win a race/title, under huge controversy and anyone reviewing that race can see the only way max wins from this position is bending the rules for drama/dramatic final lap, totally disregarding every bit of racing that come in the 50 odd laps prior.

I don’t get why they didn’t just race the last lap with no cars unlapping themselves, the few in Max’s way would have had to shift out of there under blue flags anyway

I just don't see how the FIA repute this protest. How do they defend themselves when the rules were clearly broken? Michael Masi has a lot to answer for and his response to Toto at the end was laughable. In my opinion he should resign tonight.

I wanted Max to win the title. But making up the rules as you go along to make it more exciting isn't really acceptable, is it? Can't see it being overturned though, as Max did nothing wrong and there's no guarantee he wouldn't have won had the rules been applied properly.

I mean, he obviously wouldn't have. But you still can't prove that and it would just lead to a counter protest. The maximum Merc will get out of this is the result being thrown out imo. And that would still leave Max as champion.

If the appeal result does see Lewis take the race win and title though, it would feel like justice has been done

That's how it should have played out. But they knew that that would mean Max couldn't possibly get close enough to challenge Lewis. And they changed their own rules to bring about more excitement. It's embarrassingly amateurish really

they still have the chance to do the right thing and overturn the result. But doesnt get rid of the dampner on the winners title if it goes to Lewis, theyve made a right mess of it and the drivers and still lose out because of it.

First time I had seen a Formula 1 race in years. Won't be coming back to it now I know cheating is rife in the sport.

Not watched F1 for a number of years, it became too much a one horse race. I like a challenge but today the best driver and strategy were robbed by a decision which effectively handed 12 seconds t
