That rebuttal doesn't dispove it though, just says we shouldn't endorse it. Generally anything that is seen as promoting vaccine hesitancy is suppressed or shunned by the majority of the scientific community even if there is truth in it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry, but that’s utter nonsense. That isn’t how science or scientists work.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
it really is, NHS doctors on the radio saying 'you must vaccinate your child to protect them against covid 19' when it's almost zero threat to them, just be honest about why you want to vaccinate kids.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, firstly, you’re referring to practising medics there, and not research scientists. Doctors may have different ideas (if not in my experience, and I worked for eight years with medical professionals), but professional scientists certainly aren’t in the habit of forming opinions that can’t change one day to the next based on the weight of emergent evidence versus the existing paradigm. That’s literally what they do. It’s the very point of their work.
And I think if you listen to the message, engage with the argument closely enough and look at all of the evidence, you’ll find that NHS doctors, like the scientific community, are still recommending vaccinating children for good reason; that being that the benefits to the individuals as well as to wider society outweigh the risks of doing so.

8bit, my partner is a cardiologist in practice, and she's in a number of doctors' WhatsApp groups. I can assure you that there is vigorous debate on vaccine and other Covid-related topics and that people don't shut each other down, they listen to each other and keep up with the research. Doctors don't just want to vaccinate everyone, they want to know the science and decide what's best not just for their patients, but for their own families and loved ones.
On the basis of her review and interpretation of the literature and of her conversations with other doctors, together we've decided not to give our 10-year-old daughter the jabs.
Our 20-year-old son contracted Covid in July. We've explained the science to him and told him it's up to him to decide.
She also shares my misgivings about passports.
That's how doctors go about it, although different people reach different conclusions. Certainly, only a small minority fall on the side of non-vaccination for anyone.
I am not saying there aren't vested interests at play here. There must come a point when the authorities start to weigh the cost-benefit of continuing vaccination programmes in view of the burden on the healthcare budget, and quite obviously big pharma is going to try to convince them for as long as possible that every jab is necessary. But you don't need to believe in global conspiracies to reach that conclusion, it's just how things work.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I respect that and I'm sure there's loads doctors out there like your partner, but when it comes to PHE and doctors or experts advising the government they are all pushing the message than children should be vaccinated. My opinion is they're thinking any deaths or adverse vaccine effects will be lower than the number of people who get sick with covid so it's their preferred option.

tell you what i will do it for you....
Vaccines work by stimulating your immune system to produce antibodies, exactly like it would if you were exposed to the disease. After getting vaccinated, you develop immunity to that disease, without having to get the disease first.
++++
So, vaccinated poeple have less chance of being seriously ill to the extent they need hospital treatment...
So they dont take up all the beds in ITC units in NHS hospitals up and down the country....
Thus reducing the chances o infecting professional heathcare workers (doctors and nurses) contracting it from you when the mop your brow and hold your hand during your dying breaths....
And prevent unnecessary absenteeism of essential NHS workers who have to isolate in accordance with the GVTs protocol....
Prevent other poeple (remember them?) having life saving treatment for other illnesses cancelled through lack of NHS resources

Hmmm. I'll ignore the final sentence as it's a bit silly.
Now bear with me... Covid spreads and there is nothing we can really do to stop it completely. Regardless of vaccine or not, would it be fair to assume the number of people with covid will be the same? So the danger of spread is the same. But... with those hospitalised they aren't able to spread it amongst the general public, sooooo spread across the population is reduced.

well we can stop the spread of it completely. It wouldnt be much fun though.
So we have to as a socierty do what we can do as individuals to reduced the number of infections. Social distancing, masks, cancelling parties, rogering your co-workers, visiting castles in the NE of England....etc...etc...
Again, I apply the bit you regard as silly
