As this is a nothing season tm cinci
We may as well go with the 442/4222 and get a feel of it for next season
Pity it’s a nothing season, been quite enjoying the games and seeing us in 8th
Been watching Man Utd play that 4222 formation and struggle to see how that works but maybe that’s just because they aren’t very good at it. 2 defensive midfielders that sit most of the time in front of the back 4. 2 attacking midfielders that are out numbered in the middle of the park by most opposition, and two strikers that get little supply. And if the full backs come forward they leave a big gap behind them. But I’m sure there must be teams that make it work better than Utd do

We won't be finishing top eight so enjoy it while you can.
Wouldn't be surprised if he gives 4-4-2 a try given the enforced changes at the back until Saiss returns. As others have said, there is no real aim this season so why not prepare for next season.

I don't think Bruno plays it like United do. The full backs hold the width and the wide midfielders play inside like the wide forwards do in our current formation. At Benfica the midfielders were box to box playmaker and not just used as defensive midfielders. Without the ball they drop into a 442 and it becomes about the strikers cutting off passing lanes into the midfield and then pressing to win the ball back when the ball is passed into certain areas.
There are a lot of similarities to what he has tried to implement already, you are just removing the extra defender for a striker. Much like at present, the team works as a unit to press and control. In this respect, there is little point in comparing to Man United as they work as individuals regardless of what formation they play.
Here is a link to an analysis of how Lage set up at Benfica and how it could work with Wolves. Its quite interesting.

I think Rangnick played 4222 at Leipzig but whatever he did well there isn’t working yet at Old Trafford

No signings = 11th to 14th
Signings = may make top ten
I got a B in O level geography but must confess I'd never heard of the country that Morocco beat today in the AFCON.
Interesting article on Lage. Clearly mobile players are needed to make that system work and Sanches or a player like him would be ideal to replace Moutinho.
Do think it’s a big decision for Wolves to give up on the defensive system built around Coady to move to a back 4. That’s played a big part in us getting to the top half of the division under Nuno and Lage. But we clearly need to score more.
Finding some dynamic players in the transfer market would be a help but the emergence of Fabio could change a lot for us as an attacking team. We need to find out if playing him and Raul together can work and if it does then see if we can make it work playing 3 at the back and 2 up front or whether a whole change to the system is needed

Madness right, me and Bruno being on the same page.
Brighton's late equalising goal against Palace puts us down one place in the table on goals scored (21 versus our 14). That would be interesting if we missed out on a European place on goals scored. If that happened I don't think it would be Brighton that beat us to it.

I get to know African countries then they change their name and I lose track.
Another exciting end to an ACON game today as Ghana conceded a late equaliser. A fight broke out after the final whistle which resulted in one yellow card then the bizarre sight of watching the referee hunt down the Ghana player he considered the main instigator, mainly due to the right hook he threw. He eventually sent the Ghana manager into the dressing room to get the player who was then presented with a red card a full 5 minutes after the game had ended
Cinci you are not on the same page at all. Bruno wants players to improve the squad, and will wait for that to happen. He does not simply want signings.
I think half the countries on the African continent have changed their names since there were O-levels.

Rhodesia, Southern Rhodesia, Tanganyika, Dahomey, Upper Volta and Zaire a few I remember from books.
Yes Cinci, but he understands that doing so may take time.
Cinci still wants signings that will weaken the squad then?
Luckily Amiga is about to put things straight.
I have two friends I met traveling that are in a battle to knock off all the countries first, one is at 159 now and the other at 151. They are both hitting Africa hard the last year as easier to move about during Covid.
