Wolves women have scored 28 goals in their last 7 matches and conceded 0. They top their league and look likely to get promoted.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Apart from the 3-0 defeat to Burnley weekend before last, but yes apart from that they are flying and look well set for promotion.

Uk and Ireland are set to be confirmed as the hosts for the Euro 2028 tournament. With Molineux having been selected for upcoming England internationals, maybe it will be one of the stadiums used in that tournament. Might be the incentive the club needs to do a stadium upgrade. Probably get some help with the funding if we were a chosen venue
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Could well be the incentive, although there will be some serious competition for hosting those matches and if its to be stadiums across the British Isles hosting then the plans would need to be pretty spectacular to get us in to the league of Wembley, Cardiff, Dublin as well as the other established 50k+ premier league venues.

But Jose Sa has now had a late call up, replacing Anthony Lopes.

How many stadiums would they use?

Wembley, Millennium Stadium, Hampden Park, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Olympic Stadium, Old Trafford, the new Anfield, Emirates Stadium, the Etihad, Villa Park, St James' Park etc would all be ahead of Molineux.

But I guess we would be talking about a revamped state of the art molineux with increased capacity, not the one we see today. Purely speculation of course, but it could be the trigger for development of not only the stadium but the wider area which will need to be addressed as host cities require a certain level of hotel capacity too. Depends whether the club have been talking to the FA on that subject and have provisional plans in place.

wasn't there talk of a hotel/casino by the south bank?

I still can't see it. We would be competing with Villa Park and the Birmingham area. I doubt they would choose both as a Midland location.

Ooops, missed that one, Well, how about the U23's winning their last 5 league matches and possibly finishing second?

Molineux has been chosen above all the grounds mentioned for forthcoming England internationals so don’t think it’s a pipe dream that we got allocated some early stage Euro games. Nottingham and Sheffield were venues last time it was in uk. 50,000 capacity isn’t needed for all games, and Molineux capacity may well have been increased by 2028

Nottingham and Sheffield represent the East Midlands and Yorkshire areas, where there isn't another presence. Our biggest concern will be whether they already think the West Midlands is represented by Villa Park and instead look to spread the benefit to other areas.

more and more talk of Barca not wanting to or being able to pay for Adama

posted on 22/3/22

Can see Adama being a swap deal for Trincao to be honest.

Trincy and Puig wouldn't be the worst deal

Keep hearing Puig mentioned in the rumours but has anyone actually seen him play?

ive seen bits of him, not a huge la liga watcher, but what ive seen he looks decent

Interesting to read comments from former referee Dermot Gallagher who confirmed that Var can review red cards but not yellow cards. He said there isn’t an ounce of doubt that if Raul had been given a straight red that the decision would have been overturned

Good news Mike Dean is retiring at the end of the season.
Bad news he is going to be on VAR permanently.

Some irony in the fact that the VAR officials are actually worse with replays at their disposal than the clowns actual officiating the game.

Good reports from their championship loans for MGW and Ryan Giles but not so positive about Dion Sanderson who has evidently been struggling at QPR

posted on 23/3/22

I wasn't overly impressed with Sanderson when I went to watch Blues earlier in the season. He got turned too easily on a few occasions and his distribution wasn't great, he just seemed to play lofted balls down the line. Both teams were poor in that game too, so it shouldn't have been too difficult to stand out.

No Neves until May and Neto only back in training next week according to clubs medical update

Well at least we have loads of cover in midfield.

Would you go Dendoncker and Moutinho next game or Moutinho and Dendoncker?
