Kane became the complete forward under Jose (only thing I will give him credit for at Tottenham)

Kanes passing is so good he could be the midfielder Rooney thought he was

Kane finishing top goal scorer and assister in a team that was alergic to attacking may be one of the greatest individual achievements in PL history - but this article is about RVP/Drogba.

I don’t understand how it’s even a thing. It never was when both were playing. Drogba was always overrated anyway, but he’s the finest example of a player getting much better after they retire.

Drogba for me.

Van Persie great shot power and accuracy, decent hold up play and passing.

Drogba great shot power, good accuracy and great hold up play.

Neither prolific goalscorers in the PL. I know Van Persie only scored more than 12 goals twice in his PL career. Drogba probably similar, although I'd say outside of goals Drogba did more for his team.

Van Persie. Better footballer and far more prolific.

Drogba, for all his big game moments, wasn't that clinical in front of goal and his numbers show it.

Drogba was actually pretty prolific goals per minutes. People look at his seasons totals while being a lone hold up striker, injuries and Afcon. Doesn’t paint the whole picture.

Drogba was better in the air, and better with his back to goal (not to say RvP was bad at these). That's it for me, RvP beats him in pretty much every other aspect of the game.

Heading, pace, strength, drogba had all those over van Persie.

Van perise had more talent but drogba had the better career. And i dont just mean in terms of what he won.

It’s not a thing as far as I’m concerned. I think it started becsuse arsenal fans kept comparing the two so now chelsea fans take the p!ss. And then there’s the normal donuts that seem to have twitter accounts

I think this is a bit unfair. Rooney was a great player all round. He knew how to make a great pass like Kane does (he set up RVP for one of his volley goals). Kane is the better goalscorer but Rooney was better at other things.
