If he’d slapped a woman who made a joke about them (like the one who made a joke about them earlier)

If Ricky Gervais had made that same joke at her expense I doubt either her or Will would have reacted that way. They'd have probably politely laughed it off.
It's been widely reported there's some tension between Rock and Jada dating back a few years about a previous Oscars experience.
It's been made out to be a much bigger story than it is. He told a bad joke. He got slapped. Big fecking deal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So you condone violence then? It is a big deal, it's assault
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Assault? π€£
Fecking pansies on this site everywhere. Rock would be too embarrassed to press charges over that slap.
Honestly grow a pair mate. If he'd have sparked him out with a right hook you might have more of a case.
As funny as that was, will smith must have some serious mental health problems. Hope he gets the help he needs.

Why must he? It's widely known he's gone through a very troubling time with his wife cheating on him and they are trying to make it work.
Why is mental health always the go to excuse these days?
Just a bloke trying to do what's best for his relationship and making a poor judgement call in the heat of the moment. Not everything is a mental illness.

I’m sure this will all be framed as Will Smith the cuck regaining his alpha male status in Hollywood. Don’t be surprised if he gets offered more action man roles now and his career flourishes. It’s the classic ‘man stands up for woman’ tale which agents like Ari Gold would be calling Will with all the scripts the day after.
No doubt Jada got faaacked like never before by Will after that as what he did and the night he had was like an injection of testosterone straight from the hammer of Thor. He probably feels like a man again for the first time in years.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Alpha male status by slapping a comedian like a girl?!
Whatever happened to a punch?!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nah. True story - once in my late teens I lived with this guy who always boasted he was a proper London gangster geezer type. Always going on about how hard he was and how many people he’d bashed etc. very tiresome. One night we went out to some club and after kickout time we were milling around talking with everyone coming out of the club (always the best time to hook up btw) and this one guy walked past and for some reason my flat mate took an instant dislike to him. Started shouting, threatening and getting in his face etc. I thought to myself ‘ah, now I finally see if he’s as hard as he says he is’. Then his dude just squared up to my flat mate and gave him a slap, not too dissimilar to what Will Smith did. My flat mate instantly backed down like a dog who had been told off and said nothing the rest of the night on the way home.
So in short, a well timed slap really can shut someone up and assert dominance
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I've watched that slap by Will so many times, each time it comes across as fake, staged even.
Never thought Will Smith was a slapper, he certainly is now!
I can see the Academy making him a scape goat by stripping the award away from him on the grounds of serious misconduct. Anything else condones senseless violence.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He slapped a reporter before:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8cBRfjcY9SQ&ab_channel=HipHollywood
Only a little backhand then, but the slap seems to be his go to method of action. Let's be honest, a slap is what you do if you want to give a guy almost a warning, as opposed to punching someone which could seriously injure someone, and I'm sure he didn't want to do that live on TV.
A slap is probably more insulting in a way than a punch. It's a bit of a power play.
Probably watched Rocknrolla and fancied himself as a bit of an Archie, didn’t quite work out that way
The academy will be sending him champers on the sly.
Ratings went from a 9.5m (the lowest ever) to 17.9 post slap.
Should get more people coming back for the next one who would ordinarily have bowed out, just to see what the presenters say about it, or even if there's anything else like that happening. Unless they go fully woke and start banning jokes.
so were there a lot of references to the slap as the night moved on?
Next year they'll tank again short of any drama happening. The general public have grown tired of celebrity in general I think.
