No, I'm absolutely in agreement. If you've seen me harping on here on match days, the lack of fitness and conditioning has been my biggest criticism by far. Get that sorted first, regardless of personnel and everything else will come easier.

Good each way bet, course may suit him. It's his temperament I would be concerned about especially on a masters back 9 on a Sunday

I think given the top group of talent ready to break through the academy Ten Hag and Mulesteen are a great choice. Some shrude purchases and nurturing of the youngsters, we could have a leveled up version of Ajax that can hopefully challenge soon.

I think the academy will have to provide a large part of filling the ranks in the first team when the old timers like Cavani Ronaldo Mata and Lingard Matic make their mass exodus this summer

As ever, whether he is a success or not will depend on the recruitment.

Hannibal is the major one.

It was clear the choice had narrowed to Ten Hag or Mauricio Pochettino.

However, BBC Sport has been told it is felt Ten Hag would be a better fit for the structure now in place at United, where John Murtough is the football director, Darren Fletcher is technical director and interim boss Ralf Rangnick an advisor.

Fans will always overrate the quality in their youth set up. I’m not saying we dont possess any but time and time again we hear about some supposed quality that fails to do anything. Of course there are many variables why players don’t take the step up but I’m not so sure we’re gonna see a group of quality come through from the youth teams.
