Yeah but Ancelotti doesn’t look like going anywhere. They should get past Chelsea and may even have Villarreal in the semi (though Bayern will probably pump Villarreal at home). If he takes Real to a CL final is he gonna get sacked?

I can see Ten Haag flopping at Penited, it will be way too big a job for him, he has never managed a really big club or in a really top league like the PL before.

Its a massive gamble, Poch was their first choice and would have been a safe pair of hands, but understandably he turned it down apparently.

I’ll back him fully but my opinion that he’s not as good as my first choices remains. I understand there’s not much between Poch and Ten Hag and I really won’t argue Poch is a much better choice. It’s a bit of a toss up. But I really think we needed a Conte more and he’s probably the only one who could get us up there with Klopp and Pep.

But I genuinely hope Ten Hag makes me eat my words as it’s getting boring now seeing managers come and fail. Surely someone has to get it right.

What is success at United these days?

It’s all relative. If he can get you playing good football with obvious improvement then the position next season shouldn’t matter as much.

I think with the amount of work he needs to do. Top 6, some successful signings and an identity would be enough. With 2 seasons expect CL, 3 a challenge. 5 a title.

You’re not too far off but I think if we go into next season with no Europe at all 🤞 that top 4 should be minimum

What pleases me about this is ETH would have been a ready made replacement for pep when he finally leaves city....kind of kills 2 birds with 1 stone

City will just get Pep to sign a new contract instead.
