Ultimately, we all know what the problem is.

Its racism.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is it racism?

Could it be linked to the fact we just had a NI hike to cover our already bloated social welfare system?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Makes sense to implement an expensive and unsustainable model to deal with asylum seekers then.

Should work as a deterrent, stay in France or go to Rwanda

Not if the plan is deemed illegal by our courts

When did our government let a little thing like the law get in the way of doing what they want?

^ Sorry, that’s the new policy.

I don’t believe the Aussies are still sending asylum seekers to be processed in Nauru or Indonesia (probably partly because it was an eye-wateringly expensive process, just like the UK-Rwandan deal).
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Every way is expensive...

The government recently revealed it was costing more than $56,000 a night to house 32 refugees and asylum seekers in the Park hotel in Melbourne. Labor said the government would save $19m by shifting the detainees into community detention, describing the ongoing cost as “an unbelievable waste of taxpayer money”.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Here’s a facking crazy idea, but bear with me…

How about maintaining sufficient purpose-built facilities to house people in whilst their applications are being processed?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't know, better off asking the homeless or people living in rank, sub-standard accomodation paying horrendous amounts of rent to some slumlord.

I don't know the cost implications but it isn't cheap to house, feed, provide, free medical care a refugee either.

I believe this rule only to be for single men too? Women with children are not expected to be sent to Rwanda.

I've been to France a few times, I don't understand what horrors they are so desperately running away from that require them to come to the UK.

True, namely Brexit!

Why have laws anyway? Ah yes for the plebs who do not have fame, money or state titles!

The real problem is looking at people as economic figures and not, well, people.

The real problem with the world is that the idiots are also so confident and sure of themselves whilst the intelligent are full of doubts.

This type of situation is a classic example. The idiots come out beating their chests and talking about how good it is, latching onto anything they can that agrees with their viewpoint based on some simplistic argument.

Meanwhile anyone with a shred of common sense looks at all the implications of this (human, economic and legal) and highlights that it's unworkable and inhumane.

Yeah spoken to a few and they were most looking forward to drinking 10 pints of carling, downing zambucca’s on Saturday nights, spewing up then fighting outside kebab shops at 3am.

Simply exporting the issue to another country rather than coming up with a solution to crack down on illegal human trafficking.

This government can't stoop any lower.

Down to the courts now to challenge and defeat this stupid plan.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
To be fair it’s a bit like coming up with a solution for illegal drug taking. There ain’t one.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What if these drugs were legalised?
Eh? What then?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Most of these drugs are recreational, has no medical merit or use. Will never be legalised therefore the black market will always have a role, sadly.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Opiates have no medical uses?
Cocaine was used for decades in dentistry.
MDMA and mushrooms are now being studied for treatment of PTSD.
Marijuana used also for PTSD and pain relief.
But besides that addiction is not a thing that can be dealt with in the prison.
Look at Portugal.

One UK NGO spokesperson this morning pointed out that it’d be cheaper to house all asylum seekers in 4* hotels in the UK on a permanent basis than send them to Rwanda under this deal

I’m sure the low-tax, small-state Tories will be loving that detail.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And since been discredited.

Yet they strike a deal with a black country?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
yes, of course. Why would racism stop them from doing that?

Also, Rwanda wasn't their first choice. They've had to settle for Rwanda after everyone else told them to fack off with their racist sheeeet.

Its not true that using stereotypical typcasts is fine when its the Brits, but offensive when done to anybody else. And even if it was that's because history has an impact on modern life, even though it would need to be addressed as it wouldn't be fair.
