Strong reports coming out Auba deal done and dusted. I am not surprised because common sense tells me Chelsea are competent at the transfer market
Didn’t Arsenal have to pay off Auba’s remaining contract for him to go to Barca for free and now Barca get £20+ 6 months later.
They paid £100m for Lukaku.
This hopefully puts the 'ETH knows what is best' argument to bed once and for all. The guy is clueless and hope we part ways by october.

Rumours that you are "considering" a move for Buffon?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
@FabrizioRomano 43m #Mufc are considering a move to reanimate Lev Yashin to provide competition to De Gea. Ten Hag is understood to have demanded ‘nothing but the best ever’ and the club are attempting to move heaven and earth to realise this goal.

Our midfield cannot currently be in a 433, it’s a 4231 team hence why OGS played it so often.
Does Casemiro change this?
Cas, Bruno & Eriksen?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
that would be a horrendous midfield IMO. the only legs in that engine room belong to Casemiro. it would get overun very easily

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Looking at his article history, he just seems to relentlessly criticise the manager. Not much imagination
We’ll still need another cm, unless Ten Hag wants to prioritise a keeper and right back that can help build up from the back. That may even be the best solution given the struggles we’ve got in those two positions.
If you look at the successfully run clubs like City and Liverpool, and those making strides up the league like Spurs & Arsenal, the focus is on players with years ahead of them...sure they are still top quality and expensive but also offer longevity and value.
Look at Rodri, bought when he was 23/34, now 27, a top class DM with years left in him, signed for the £60m being touted for Casemiro.
Liverpool bought Thiago at 29 but paid £25m for him.
No doubt Casemiro could solve some current issues but he'd probably be on a 4 year deal (34) earning massive sums.
This appears as a classic United transfer of the last 10 years!
Sounds like we might be going for a RB now. Better late than never I guess. Rumours about Dest who I guess played under EtH at Ajax.
Spurs bought Perisic and he’s 33.

you also need to think of it as in hunger and ambition levels.
First of all leaving Madrid to join Utd just now is a sever lack of ambition. his team just won the champ league and he wants to leave? hmmmmm he may very well improve the team but doesnt take them to the levels the fans are expecting

True but I think we still need some balance. A 30 year old with strong leadership and great experience could be very useful for us.
The key is his desire to wanna play for us and whether he can stay fit.

I think you're MASSIVELY underestimating Casmiero's ability, in the exact position United need a player the most (defensive mid). He's a World Class CDM, he starts ahead of Fabinho for Brazil who's an unbelievable player and he's 31 only in Feb.
You have a player like him + legs beside him (e.g. Brazil do with Fred) he'll improve us monumentally.
Correlation does not equal causation. There's countless examples of players in their 30's moving and transforming clubs.
Thiago Silva has been excellent for Chelsea, Pirlo for Juventus etc etc.
All this depression around United is blinding people from the facts he's a world class player who's rarely injured.
He'd get into any team in the world

would need a box to box mid and a creative player ( i think eriksson and fernandes bring too much of a sameness to the midfield and only really effective in games you are dominating.
A ball winning mid (casemiro) a box to box midfielder (in the mould of mcginn but one that had more quality than him) and a creative playmaker in fernandes OR eriksson certainly not both IMO
It’s a midfielder we’ve been crying out for since Keane went to shiiiiit.
