What makes you think he is on his way down?

He’s 30 years old, he completed 90 minutes only 22 times last season and most importantly, Real Madrid are open to selling him.

He is one of the best if not the best defensive midfielders in World football, only turned 30 a few months ago, a massive upgrade on what you have, most players look for a pay day when they turn 33/34 not 30, you guys are kidding yourselves if you say you dont want him, its laughable

It’s not so much the player, who’s very good, it’s the age. Years of buying high quality players past or way past prime has put people off, it’s about building long term to go forward.

Man United need to build a team that isn’t absolute shiiiiit in the short term. This obsession with long term is stupid.

I agree with you but we may as well have brought in Conte if that was the case. I just don’t see Ten Hag as the type of guy who’ll want a bunch of panic buys to deal with while trying to build a side who play his way

I’m not looking for the type of ‘good’ football you want. I’m happy for Conte-ball and knowing we have one of the best coaches of the past 15 years leading us to better days out there on the touchline. The difference is I think Conte would succeed whereas Ten Hag is a couple more losses away from being the next Frank De Boer.

It doesn’t really matter because he’s not going to get the job.

I don't think there's even any question. He'd actually be locked up for murder by now if he'd had to deal with our elite transfer negotiation team.

I think he’d have killed Martial before it even got to January.

People said that about Levy but Conte tamed him like a rescue golden retriever. I’m sure he’d have Richard Arnold eating out of his manicured hands.

I’m not the biggest fan of the Casemiro deal and think it’s probably a bad idea but he’s a lot less broken than Bastian was when he joined us. The German was literally a walking treatment room.
