Are reliable sources actually reporting this or is it just more united-related BS?

You’re right it was £72m.

But still I see why it happens. Like Darren says it’s about his ego. Real are doing what’s best for them and Tchouameni coming in will obviously make Casemiro reevaluate his options. He’s still a top player and pro and I don’t see signs that he would move just for an easy option.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
you dont get to his level, win the things he has won, hold down a regular spot year in year out for madrid if your mentally weak thats for sure. Id be shocked if Casimero doesnt think he is better or can do a better job than him at Madrid still.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Isn't that what we said for varane ?
And Ronaldo.... Won it all, look at his mentality at the moment.

Apparently Ronaldo’s been rejected by Dortmund now. We’re gonna be stuck with him, aren’t we?

At this point just rip up his contract. I saw a clip of him walking off after the Brentford game where he just ignored EtH. Was also reported he ignored the coaching staff telling him to go to the away fans like some of the other players were.

did they two want away from madrid cos players were signed that they thought were better than them?

Not sure why Varane is the comparison after the poor season we have had as a club. No one looked good last season.

posted on 18/8/22

1982, yeah he’s a priiiiick.

Varane’s issue seems to be more about his niggling injuries which was raised before we bought him.

We're a bit damned if we do and damned if don't, frankly.

Bringing in younger hungry players sounds great in most cases, but they'd be coming into a bit of a mess of a squad, which has a lack of experience and leadership and is very fragile. Not a great environment for younger players to come and thrive in.

We desperately need some proven quality & experience in this team. If Ronaldo leaves (and I think he should), our most senior players are Varane, De Gea & Eriksen. De Gea looks back to his worst again, Eriksen is new and Varane needs to prove his fitness. The core of our playing squad looks light on quality and light on leaders & characters. Casemiro would be a short term fix on the pitch but may add longer term value in the dressing room.

But we really more than Casemiro in both midfield and the squad as a whole.

your missing a spine to that team so badly.

De gea - shocking and must fill the defence with fear.

No dominating strong character CB

No demanding CMs, lacking fight and drive and someone prepared to give a player or two a slap on the training ground for not pulling weight

No hungry striker desperate for goals and ready to defend from the front.

the most important thing in football is to have that bonded strong spine of the team.

Man Utd - the Invertebrate team

Yep that’s my thinking.

We’ve seen over the years how our younger players have been unable to deal with the pressure of carrying this club to the level we need it to be.

There’s obviously been many reasons for our failings but the lack of character and leadership has clearly been an obvious one.

you clearly think he is the best at his role in the world , why would madrid want to lose a player like that?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Because they just spent 100m on his replacement and just won the Champions League & Spanish title, whilst Barca are weak and very unlikely to win the title.

Now would be the perfect perfect time to get a decent price for a player they already have a replacement.

It makes sense for both clubs.

but they have the best in the world already why are they trying to replace the best in the world with a lesser player?

you dont give away the best player in that role in the world surely? he has a good 3-5 year ahead of him why get rid of him if he is the best out there at it?

Madrid have been looking to rebuild their midfield for a while because of their age. They won’t pass up big money for Casimero if he’s looking to move.

Tbf I don't think anyone is debating whether he's better than Mcfred in the DM role. Of course he is.

I think what people are rightly questioning is his motives to leave the current Spanish and CL winners to come to us in Europa League. It's clearly for a big final payday.

60m on a 30 year old looking for a huge payday is very very risky. It's got huge red flags this one despite him being a top player.

Could be two more. Antony might be back on as well. I'm going to have a heart attack. 😂

We call it an ‘ataque al corazón’ round here, if you don’t mind.

Casemiro, if it even happens, is already giving me Alexis Sanchez big final payday vibes. His motivation to leave Madrid to come to us right now can only be money. There's nothing really in it for him other than that.

Early days with Martinez of course but I'm already a bit worried he's not suited to the PL, certainly not at CB anyway.

As for Antony.....I would be surprised if we agree to their asking fee but you never know.

One of the most ridiculous articles I’ve ever read on this site. Casemiro is world class in the exact role you need the most and this your reaction lol

This comes across like you’re just not objective at all and that only the select group of potential signings you personally would like would be seen as acceptable or “good” signings in your mind

Don’t forget that Malacia’s mother is Surinamese. Worth keeping an eye on him.

Probably because we've been down this road before. Casemiro is obviously in a different league to what we currently have. That's not the point.

The issue some fans will have is his motivation. If it's just financially motivated, which is almost certainly is, then there's a fair chance we won't see the same Casemiro that we all saw at Madrid.

It's really not that hard to understand. But then maybe he are in a position where we risk it for a biscuit again.
