He's not a minority so you can't make the comparison. JRM has no reason to feel oppressed or disgruntled by his treatment.
I'm very sad by the queens passing and think that this Sinclair guy made a pretty ill timed and stupid comment. But this is is a by-product of the widespread racism between the 60s and 90s so if you don't like it you should probably point the finger at the people of that era who made those of a different colour feel like this wasn't "their" queen.
I would have exactly the same view if a white person on radio tweeted “why should white people mourn” of a black person in power passing. It’s bloody disrespectful and the undertones are racist. Not to mention coming from a guy who has previous for racist abuse. That’s the last I’m saying on this.
He’ll probably get a gig at GB news in the ‘they cancelled me’ segment
Don, that doesn't have any context attached though if you were to apply it to a white person saying they shouldn't mourn for a black person. That really would come across as racist. The context with Sinclair is that he is suggesting the Queen hasn't done anything to combat racism. I'm not trying to defend what he said at all but you can't do a hypothetical example of a white person doing it and call it the same, it doesn't work.

I am probably in the minority when I say I enjoyed Sinclair's contributions to Talksport and I had always thought he expressed his opinion on whatever subject very well and so I'm surprised he has decided at this very delicate time to play Russian roulette with his career.
His latest public outburst can not be brushed under the carpet because the subject, his language and the tone is so inflamatory they serve no other purpose than to cause division and incite public disorder.
Trevor Sinclair's tweet clearly shows to me that he has a lot of personal pent up resentment and anger issues, which are understandable by his own experiences of racism but at the same time his method and timing of such diversive views shows a breathtaking deficiency of self control and tact and a complete breakdown and failure to read the room.
Talksport have already distanced themselves from his views and their statement to undergo a full investigation into the matter suggests that Sinclair's days at Talksport are numbered.
Whether you are a Royalist or not you must accept millions and millions of people all around the World of every ethnic background you can think of loved The Queen so to use her passing as a platform for your own personal grievences is unacceptable.
Sorry Trevor... this was not clever!

What does work in Sinclair's favour is that he's black. If it was a white person saying a segment of society shouldn't mourn the Queen for some other political reasons, he'd have been sacked already.
Another thing about this is that he's effectively saying that it's OK for white people not to object to racism. He understands white people mourning a racist head of state, but why should black people mourn her, is what he's saying. If anything he's advocating racism.

This odious mug should be sacked from all his media jobs, if he is allowed to carry on or resurfaces somewhere else there is something very wrong.
This is the problem when you give people jobs in the media purely for tokenistic reasons and as a box ticking exercise, rather than their ability to do a job, you end up with mugs like Sinclair.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This Billy. The tick box âś… exercise in full swing with this bell piece and he preaches hatred like that. We talk about division and trying to unite all races, colours etc and this mug is rounding up every person of colour to cause friction. Absolutely disgusting and if it was the other way round, people would be outraged and rightly so.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Trust a pair cants like Don and Billy to start off by describing a black man as a "token" and a "box checking exercise", before proceeding to spam a thread with 100+ comments complaining about racism.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh shut up you cretin. It’s token because he has zero talent. I couldn’t careless that he’s black. I think Darren Lewis is brilliant on talkSPORT and he’s black, so keep your bulls** to yourself you to**
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Get off the internet for 10 minutes and walk up to any black person at his place of work and describe them as a "token" or a "box checking exercise".
Report back with your findings after your trip to the hospital.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's pretty discriminatory and insulting to suggest that black people respond to comments which they find offensive, by enacting violence which puts the person who made the comment in hospital tbh.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why assume that it’d be the victim who’d attempt to knock some sense into you and not one of their white or brown colleagues?
A swift left-right would be a perfectly acceptable response to a patently racist insult in the workplace in my book.
Should be the first line in any HR handbook.

If anything he's advocating racism.

you would think that people were praising Sinclair for his comments or something. He's already been widely condemned. How thick are some people.

Some horrific things were done in her name which has never ever been done before or after
----------------------------------------------------------------------
oh really? what were these things?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Google it or open a book

No come on. share some of your wealth of knowledge with us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nope, i'm not playing this game.
Didn't claim to have a wealth of knowledge, and here is not a place to educate people who don't know the basics about the British Empire.
But i have a feeling you know exactly what happened and are fishing...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The only thing I think you could be referring to (although I guess more likely you are just totally clueless on British and world history), would be the fight against the mau mau in Kenya. But if you think there's nothing comparable before or since in human history then it just shows how brainwashed you are.
