I'm all for free speech, but there is a time and a place for this kind of thing.
Lead away or told to stop blocking a gate?

Sorry but you can't really be "all for free speech" and then tell someone they can't practice free speech at a particular time and in a particular place.
Especially when her sign doesn't seem to be hate speech or inflammatory in any way

I haven't told anyone to do anything. I just don't agree with opportunism of using a person's death to voice these opinions. Total lack of respect.
It is very worrying that people are being arrested for simply holding a sign and stating their view, I get some people might find it bad timing but that has never been an issue before. I saw a video of a guy who held a blank sign and was swarmed by the police and demanded his details.
The footage of the guy in Scotland who shouted out ‘andrew, you’re a sick man’ followed by hundreds of people shouting ‘god save the king’ to drown him out was terrifying.
Maintaining the conception that we are ALL grieving. Are ALL terribly upset. Are ALL unable to get back into the real world because a 96 year old woman has died. We are ALL 100% royalists and expect the day to day functioning of this country to stop.
I thought this was a country that aloud free speech and an ability to have your own views. Must have got that wrong.

I don't believe that the person from the clip in the OP was arrested.
And shouting that at Prince Andrew when he is walking behind his mother's coffin is out of order. I am by no means a fan of Prince Andrew, but I respected the Queen and if you are stupid enough to be shouting stuff like that when the dead Queen that has served for 75 years is being driven down the street in a procession, expect to get arrested.
He ain’t my King either….
The days of protesting even peacefully will soon be over, you watch. Not sure whether it will happen before or after free speech has gone.
Let’s hope the police are just as effective should a real dire situation arise where public safety is actually threatened in the coming days.

I think shouting abuse when the dead Queen is being driven down the street is pushing free speech a bit. Would you be happy for abuse to be shouted at your family during a funeral procession for one of your family members?

Firstly, I don't think the person in the OP was arrested as far as I am aware. They were just moved on.
Secondly, people are arrested all the time for saying things or posting things online. Have you been living in a cave?

Standard misplaced anger. You're angry at the police for abusing their powers, has nothing to do with the royal family.
No, I don’t like the royal family and find the whole ‘mourning’ quite pathetic.
The country is going a bit Islam vs the satanic verses right now.
Who knew the royal spongers garnered this much fanaticism

You've clearly got a chip on your shoulder about it all, not sure you need to explain it it's obvious to everybody.
But protestors getting arrested has nothing to do with the royal family, that's the police.

Forget it's the queen, or anyone famous, is it right to shout and heckle as someone's coffin goes past, or their family are paying respects? No it's not. They should be dragged away for disrupting the peace.
Disliking the royal family and thinking they’re irrelevant doesn’t mean I have a chip on my shoulder. Yes I also dislike the police.
Hold up a small sign with a message that "they" don't want and FOUR coppers turn up within seconds. Get your house burgled, or get mugged and see how long it takes for FOUR coppers to turn up.
Besides, perhaps those FOUR coppers should be elsewhere, like being available to police one of the many cancelled footie games the police apparently can't be at to police.
Is no wonder, given such resources employed for so many more important things, like moving on this lone women.
Do people get arrested for holding signs and shouting outside abortion clinics, or having anti vax rallies? No because while I disagree with their views they have a right to protest them as long as they don’t harm or threaten others.

So what about a person quietly holding a sign in a public place. Is that "disturbing the peace" too? Or is it just because it's against the royals and people have to pretend to be offended?
