I'm all for free speech, but there is a time and a place for this kind of thing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Who decided that? This isn’t f*cking Moscow or North Korea.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No one decided it. I am giving my opinion. I was brought up to show respect to the dead and I think it is out of order. If you disagree then that is your opinion.

100% this. We seem to have a load of animals on this board. Although I suspect not a single on of them would have actually had the balls to do the shouting themselves. All p!ss and wind.

Hold up a small sign with a message that "they" don't want and FOUR coppers turn up within seconds. Get your house burgled, or get mugged and see how long it takes for FOUR coppers to turn up.
Besides, perhaps those FOUR coppers should be elsewhere, like being available to police one of the many cancelled footie games the police apparently can't be at to police.
Is no wonder, given such resources employed for so many more important things, like moving on this lone women.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
My god, the crying about the lack of football continues.
It does stink of a huge problem with how resources are allocated in this country. Apparently there's no choice but for almost every public service to be falling apart.
Environmental standards? Nope the agency is literally told to ignore public reports.
Ambulances? No, wait several hours for one then several more outside the hospital waiting for a bed
Schools? Bigger and bigger classroom sizes, a choice between heating and teaching
Police? No, not unless it's very serious, not unless someone is holding up a sign...
Fecked.

Do people get arrested for holding signs and shouting outside abortion clinics, or having anti vax rallies? No because while I disagree with their views they have a right to protest them as long as they don’t harm or threaten others.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A quick Google shows that yes, they do get arrested for protesting outside abortion clinics.

Forget it's the queen, or anyone famous, is it right to shout and heckle as someone's coffin goes past, or their family are paying respects? No it's not. They should be dragged away for disrupting the peace.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So what about a person quietly holding a sign in a public place. Is that "disturbing the peace" too? Or is it just because it's against the royals and people have to pretend to be offended?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
99.99% of people there are because they liked the queen, you are more than welcome to go on twitter, or come on here and moan about the queen all you want, you really are stupid enough to think because someone gets dragged away for heckling an dead person passing by is the end of free speech? Have you not seen how many protests we've had recently in this country and the police do absolutely nothing?
I'll say for the last time, you can't start should abuse at a dead person passing in a coffin when people are there to show their respects, it's breaching the peace.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
"but it's for the greater good"
Tends to be the opinion of these people.

If this is why we need all regional coppers deployed in London for for the next week God help this country. How many coppers were there. 4?.
If you house gets violently burgled with your 90yr old mother inside it, it takes 3 days for a single copper to eventually turn out after several 999 call in a certain S Manchester posh suburb
The police in this country really are having a good laugh at us..

It's really not hard to grasp. It shows a total lack of respect. The fact that people think it is ok says a lot about their morals.

So if I was heckling at Jimmy Savilles funeral would you complian then?

Could say the same thing about the amount of police needed at football matches tbh.

You can't blame the police for being under-funded. You need to look higher up.

It's not Jimmy Saville for one, but I think heckling at any funeral is absolutely unacceptable.

People were literally dancing on the streets when Thatcher died.

Yep, or turning their back on the coffin.
