I guess if the nonce actually went to prison and wasn’t protected by his mum then that bloke wouldn’t have needed to heckle.

If North Korea stopped the whole country to mourn the loss of a leader and arrested people holding up signs in protest, everyone would be mocking them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
North Korea also have a dictator running the country

Government approved hair cuts
International calls are a crime
No iphones
compulsory military service
power cuts every night
Insult kim and you you're jailed (if you're lucky) along with every living generation of your family

Yeah we're JUST like North Korea
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I didn't say exactly like North Korea. Just pointed out the irony in people supporting this type of ceremony and police behaviour being the same people who would laugh at it elsewhere.

Although, power cuts every night could become a thing here when you can't afford your energy bill. The darkness may make it easier for you to nosh off your Tory overlords.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What are you on about?? Not that I ever voted tory, but what the feck does that have to do with anything??
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The same amount that your post had to do with the point I made.

Arrested for shouting “you’re a sick man” in the street

Still, it’s got a lot of coverage, which I’m sure was the point.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Its not what he shouted, but where and when he did it. If you think that is acceptable as a coffin is passing by then that says a lot about you. I suspect if they shoe was on the other foot and people were shouting abuse as one of your religious leaders passed by, you would feel totally different.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don’t have a religious leader.

He’s a constitutional monarch. It’s not like he can command us and make laws.

Seems a bit if a pointless protest
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We have a head of state that nobody voted for and a prime minister only 80,000 people voted for.

Democracy in the UK 2022.

Again, I am not fan of Andrew.

But he ahsn't been found guilty of anything and if anything did happen she was 17 at the time. So calling him a nonce is wrong.

They can’t make legislation, their ‘powers’ are purely constitutional. If they could pass laws etc I would understand, but they can’t do anything and this protest just seems like attention seeking.

If this is why we need all regional coppers deployed in London for for the next week God help this country. How many coppers were there. 4?.

If you house gets violently burgled with your 90yr old mother inside it, it takes 3 days for a single copper to eventually turn out after several 999 call in a certain S Manchester posh suburb

The police in this country really are having a good laugh at us..
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You can't blame the police for being under-funded. You need to look higher up.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nah.

Somebody with a camera filming in public and 3 squad cars will appear within 10 mins. But violent crime... and nothing usually. What's that all about.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

That will depend on location of the crime, staffing of the specific police force, what other calls they are attending at the time, whether or not it needs to be an armed response etc. Too simple to pick two different incidents and ask why one was attended and one wasn't.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Possibly but come on when somebody is attacking a 90yr olds house with spades throvl the windows to get in in broad daylight to respond 3 days later is pathetic. Not just my story either.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

The whole country hasn't been stopped. It is at employers discretion. I will be working on Monday as will the majority of my staff - only 1 out of 14 has asked for it off.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Also would you mock the state funeral of JFK? Charles de Gaulle? Hirohito? Prince Henrik?

Why do we pretend that what's happening in the UK doesn't have in every country for particular dignitaries?

Forget it's the queen, or anyone famous, is it right to shout and heckle as someone's coffin goes past, or their family are paying respects? No it's not. They should be dragged away for disrupting the peace.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

100% this. We seem to have a load of animals on this board. Although I suspect not a single on of them would have actually had the balls to do the shouting themselves. All p!ss and wind.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't know the specifics of this case. Did the police know that the those responsible had left the scene? If so then it might have been decided that their resources were best spent on a 'live' crime. Impossible to know without understanding the specifics. Either way, underfunding will likely be the reason - not because the police officers are inherently bad people that don't give a sh!t.

Personally, no. Its not illegal, but could be seen as breaching the peace in that instance. That one I am less concerned about.

I more concerned about the arrests of people holding signs or asking who elected Charles to be honest. Do you think that is acceptable?
