WTF IS GOING ON?????

posted on 21/9/22

Two stories.....

i) He's been demoted to coach ( I see that as highly unlikely)

ii) He left to join another club, with Birmingham City mentioned in a coaching capacity ( I see that as unlikely too)

No one has refuted this as a joke, bad press etc....

Has Clowes turned out to be MM's older more impatient brother?

And seriously, wtf? I'm gutted for Rosenior if this is true.

I see your WTF and raise to WTAF.

Damn it, I was seeking some reassurance, a "Pull yourself together man, clearly the Dwags have kidnapped John Percy and sending fake news via his laptop."

Feel for the guy, but the results, and often the performances simply haven't been good enough. Could be he knows this and even prefers the idea of a coaching role rather than full responsibility.

That said, maybe we have too many 'on their day' players, when it's never their day at the same time, or players who will score a goal then think their job is done. We let a player who was only really proven at this level go out on loan to Birmingham, thinking he was too good to play for us.

Don't know if Clowes is impatient, or in purchasing the club was gambling on the team going straight back up, it might be the proverbial will hit the fan even harder if we don't.

It will have been expected by those with the money for us to hit the ground running, we haven't.

Even when we've won, we've not looked confident, we've not really looked like we have a solid idea of how to hold on to our lead, it's just been a case of try to hold on and hope our opposition miss a bunch of sitters. We're just outside the play-off places, but on merit? I'm not sure.

It's a new team, it needs time to gel, but we're not seeing any signs of that so far. That might be what both Clowes and LR are seeing, so feel help is needed.

This seems crazy if true. We have made sufficient chances to win every game this season. Our attack is not doing the business but that could change as it is only 9 games from the start of the season.

Its now been confirmed he is still employed by the club.

Comments that he's possibly voluntarily stepped down for somebody more experienced to take over hence he's remaining in a coaching capacity.

Incredibly disappointing decision in my opinion. Impatient, knee jerk reaction that echoes of MM's behaviour.

It does feel odd to announce this unless there's a replacement lined up to come straight in. Who takes charge of the next match? if it's still LR when why announce this now at all?

The thing is approaching P Warne based on his achievements is understandable but doesn't guarantee anything. Number of times a big club goes out to get a manager who has achieved success with a club punching above its' weight for a bigger club has turned into failure. Ipswich in recent seasons appointed Paul Lambert and Paul Cook who have had a success at this level.

If LR was to be replaced I'd much rather see a manager who is making a small step up from existing club to Derby. This feels like Paul Jewell, he had success at clubs such as Wigan and Bradford but on joining bigger clubs was a complete failure (and a dirt bag)

Secondly, one of MM's biggest flaws was switching managers with contrasting styles. We have a squad to accomodate LR's style of play, given Paul Warne played a different system in L1 (3-1-4-2) he may require a few additions to support his style.

Ed Dawes has said rumours of this circulating since Sunday but he dismissed them. We're in international break, with the Man city U21 game postponed along with the match thereafter (Morecombe?) gives the club time to appoint who they are after.

There's been a change in Companies House, one I'm not familiar with:

It is far too soon to replace Liam, FFS give him a proper chance.

And if he's got to go then wait till Cooper gets sacked and get him.

Then there's always Colin.

Steve Cooper would need to do a 40 day stint at another club before coming to Derby to be the Messiah.

RD update:

Derby County apparently approached Rotherham on Sunday for Paul Warne. News emerging Warne leaving Rotherham.

I know he's successful but I don't want him. Anyone else feel that way?

When he came in Clowes said he wanted a bit of time to take a look at the club abnd see what sort of structure he wanted. I suppose you could say that he was wise not to give Rosenior a 3-year contract straight away but to make it an interim post. I have been happy overall with how we have done and thought it would not take many tweaks to have us challenging for top two. Maybe this has been mutual and Rosenior doesn't actually like the "managing" part of the job which takes him away from coaching. I have just been told that when the players heard rumours of this a few days ago they went to Clowes and said they wanted Rosenior to stay.

Making headlines for the wrong reasons

Unreal. It is really not a difficult stretch to imagine we could easily have won every game so far and been top. For sure 3 performances deserved another 7 points.

I really hope this is at Liam’s behest but that seems unlikely.

Can't see why Paul Warne would want to come to Derby. He would be dropping down a division and he has two other suitors in Huddersfield and Cardiff. What about Brendan Rogers?

posted on 21/9/22

One reason might be that he wouldn't need to uproot his family, though that would presumably also apply to Huddersfield. Another might be that he sees Derby as ultimately having more potential than the other clubs.
