I didnt predict the goalscorer, but I got the result.
Igor, Coventry 2-2 Rotherham, Burnley 1-0 Norwich, still playing
I think that we didn't concede is all we can take from this game
Reflections Rams v Exeter
Well, a hugely disappointing game against a strong & organised, yet pretty ordinary L1 team.
Did we create any chances ??? Yes, their goalie did make a couple of saves but generally we lacked ideas and craft. The midfield which includes both Bird and Hourihane is pretty ineffective and with Smith moving to RB in the 2nd half there was nobody with the wherewithall to effectively give any control.
Too many passes went astray and as things sit today we just aren't a top 6 outfit.
I accept we aren't going to win every game and granted we were better 2nd half but all in all we were just pretty toothless - not helped by yet another really poor Ref.
As a footnote, an excellent turn out by the Exeter fans.
Cheers. Terry UTR
Better second half (not difficult), but very poor decision making in the final third. Some of the crossing was abysmal
Gonna watch the news, at least that will be more uplifting đŠ
Night.
First half seemed flat with strange team selection and substitutions. Dobbin made a huge difference and was excellent and while we were much better second half I'm not sure we deserved to win.
Not enough chances created and it really does seem that Bird and Hourihane do not gel. Thank goodness for Smith's versatility. Did well as emergency RB.
Defence was fine but I'm not sure we will achieve much without Collins. Still I believe he will be back this Saturday.
PS Tired of seeing really poor refs.
It seems to be every game.
Ref wasn’t poor tonight - well he was but some of the decisions were just weird. Several come to mind but the one where an Exeter player puts the ball out (near Vidal), they reset treads for the Derby throw, Derby player picks up ball ready to throw and then he said it was an Exeter throw. Even the Exeter players looked embarrassed đ
Poor first half. We had a decent go at it second half. Warne made some interesting comments to the effect that if you only turn up for one half then everything gets compressed into those 45 minutes and you end up hurrying everything in your desperation to score. It certainly looked like that, some rushed decisions at key moments when we could have finished things off.
Going to four at the back helped, don’t know if he will try that again. If so then I don’t think that Bird and Hourihane are the right pair. The defence were all extremely good, especially Cashin and Forsyth. Smith can clearly do an OK job at right back but we would miss him in midfield despite his first half error last night.
Glimpses of some better play when we managed to feed Dobbin and NML. Every game seems to throw up more questions though at the moment.
Officiating poor. Four or five bizarre throw-in calls near me and I don’t know how they all missed the foul by their keeper on Osula. It wouldn’t have been a red card but at least a good free kick chance for Hourihane. Didn’t really affect the outcome, just added to the frustration.
So glad we got rid of LR. Winning home games is such a bore.
Warne also said he took Sibley off because he didn't trust him to stay on the pitch!

The ultimate in self fulfilling prophecies.
It was a stupid booking from Sibley of the type he is wont to collect. I thought at half time he should be subbed for Dobbin anyway to better suit the changed formation, which is what happened and we looked better for it.
I'm not sure we would have won all of our home games under Rosenior. I think that run had stopped before he was replaced.

We had lost one narrowly to the best team in the division. I am certain we wouldn't have won all our home games. Just an observation that we aren't currently doing as well at home as under LR.
I was never convinced that PW would be a great improvement over LR. His 3 promotions might look impressive but the three relegations take off some of the shine.
Sibley is just thick, he must have the IQ of an amoeba.
…. he’s a poor man’s Shinnie.
