Did you get your 5th booster yet Robb ? I am on my 6th now
I was in school with this guy - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-64376923
"A son accused of murdering his father believed he was working with a military unit to wipe out Covid by experimenting on pigs, a court heard."
It can all be linked back to the Dunning Kruger effect (among other things), Robb. As most of these things can.
Here is a good article on it:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9330604/
Stupid people believe that they should have an opinion on everything, even when they have very little understanding of it. Then because the majority of people are ignorant on each topic, the majority viewpoint of the stupid people gathers momentum because they are stupid and don't know they are stupid.
People are stupid. That's it. Don't get too frustrated about it.
The whole covid saga made it very, very clear that if climate change hits like many think it will, a big chunk of the population will literally ignore the problem and fight against the evidence their eyes show them.
It will be both very sad and somewhat funny if the human population's big demise is down to a bunch of inbreds refusing to slightly adjust their lives.

Oh hello Greta, nice to see you working tirelessly, really appreciate your work
There are people like Dr Aseem Malhotra blaming every single death of a not-old person on the vaccine - including some who've not even taken it! He's an extremely manipulative person, who's trained and skilled in media. Unfortunately, people felt utterly hopeless when COVID happened. Also, as they didn't understand it (it was so new) the easiest explanation is some kind of conspiracy. This radicalisation has impacted people close to me. I've seen intelligent people become utterly sucked in.
Of course, there have been lots of pandemics. The difference is that unlike MERS, Zika, Asian flu etc..., this one affected the developed nations. There's a lot of racism in COVID conspiracy theories. People don't accept this kind of thing can happen to the white man.
The (actually understandable) dissatisfaction in the power of the pharmaceutical industry has morphed into a view that the whole COVID plan was to maximise their profits.
And social media is a disaster here. You sit in your echo chamber and think that millions hold the same views. The number of fake IDs tweeting about it is insane.
.
Yeah lots of misinformation and disinformation, need more censorship

I read about that last week. Got to ask, what was he like in school?
Good morning by the way Diafol.
Sadly it’s being normalised in public discourse in Britain now.

A bunch of useful idiots doing the work for the big oil companies.
I did enjoy seeing Richard Tice slate the nutjob Andrew Bridgen and then his entire Twitter ratio was people saying ‘I would have voted for you but after what you said about Andrew Bridgen i think you’re a shill for the mainstream media’
They’re turning on each other which is a relief.

Bore da Babyen.
He was in the same year in me as school but he was quite a few months older and was a big chap (played second row in rugby).
I liked him, he was a very clever guy, but I never really fully trusted him. Just a feeling really not anything he'd done. After leaving school he had a few mental health problems and it seems he's got sucked into these conspiracy theories. With most people, individually at least, it's pretty harmless but he went the whole way (resisted the temptation to use hog!) unfortunately.
It's a tragic story really and I feel really sorry for his family. I just don't think he got the help he needed.

Does it actually influence much though? Trump got into power by using the stupid majority. But what did he actually do when in power though? Nonsense can only get you so far before you have to deal with experts and not the stupid majority.
That’s a terrible story. Poor fella. I’m sure he will get all the help where he is heading.

Leave us "crazy guys in the corner of the pub" alone. That is where us oldies share our wisdom. It is a sacred area where phrases like "Did you see Crown of Thrones last night" are never uttered.
Our thoughts are directed towards the more important things in life as in "How much longer do you think Lampard will last?" or "What an innings by Crawley!".
