He won’t ever play for the club, and rightly so.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s a tough one, I’m not gonna say you’re wrong, that’s how you feel. If UTD make that decision then, it is what it is, and will respect that stance.
But, I will welcome him back if they bring him back into the squad.

I'd need to know the full facts and context to make a judgement myself, based on the most up to date evidence.

From what I currently understand from the recording I heard last year I wouldn't have him back at the club.

Bin him; but not for the reasons stated in the OP.

Because it’s the right facking thing to do.

I trust the system, and I believe in giving people (especially young people) a second chance.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He can have a second chance at another club. Not at United.

Based on what we currently know, how can you possibly say this with such certainty?

Because I’ve seen the pictures and heard the recording. So have millions around the world. That’ll be more than enough for the club to avoid further reputational damage by continuing to employ him. Manchester United are a poorly run club, but one thing they know well is PR.

I doubt anything further will get into public, at least not from the police or the courts.

Lad probably needs to go abroad but if the girl comes out and say it's doctored or something, then I'm not sure what to do if I were a PR manager.

There is an old expression -
A man is innocent until...
hung, drawn and quartered by the media and idiots on social media.

The very fact that the investigation has run for so long says a huge amount, IMO.

The police and CPS know how insanely difficult it is to get convictions for sexual offences, and they don’t pursue cases over sustained periods unless there’s very strong evidence from the beginning.

so, in a shocking and unforeseen twist, those posters quickest to label pogba (gobby agent) or lingard (sells sh!t hoodies) as "toxic", are also the ones most willing to welcome back greenwood (hey, he's young, everyone makes mistakes).

what a turn up for the books.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Have you ever not mentioned Paul fecking Pogba in your life?

Jesus Christ you were wrong about him for years and never stood down and look at us now without him. Miles better off.

The Greenwood situation is a very tricky one. We all heard what we heard but again he's not going to be prosecuted, she's apparently back with him and he will have no criminal record.

Sacking him isn't straight forward at all and he could definitely win an appeal. Selling him isn't going to be easy either.

It's a mess I will give you that.

What if the recordings been doctored / tampered with?

A loan move abroad is the most likely outcome for him next season but who knows.

posted on 2/2/23

I'd play him in the reserves for the remainder of the season and let it blow over.

Even if they can’t sack him, they fan mutually agree to terminate his contract.

And you know for certain that the injuries in the photos were caused by Greenwood? You know for certain that the recording was of him attempting to rape her and not just acting like an angry entitled p***k?

I only ask because the CPS clearly don't

I think its all a moot point - the sponsors won't let us bring him back anyway.

Not sure how we then get rid of him from a legal standpoint but im sure there's a way based on the reputational damage caused by the audio recording or something.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

They didn't mind us signing Ronaldo.

Where have you heard that the recording has been doctored?

i think that was probably checked early on in the investigation. stop making outlandish claims to justify him being kept on.

They can but he'd have to agree to that too and why would he do that unless he had huge offers lined up?

Like I said this is complex. I think we might end up loaning him out to Turkey or somewhere like that.

That's what I think too. Get away from the English media circus for a year to rebuild his fitness. The Sancho curriculum is what I think is best for him.

Not sure how his teammates are going to see him now so you don't want to put him straight back into first team sessions either when we've got a good thing going right now.

I’ll refer you to my earlier post:

Bringing the club into disrepute. Manchester United do not need the same burden of proof, to cancel the contract of an employee, as the CPS do to go ahead with criminal proceedings.

Because it’s the only way he comes away with any money. They can also buy out his contract. Getting rid of him won’t be difficult.

Further evidence has come to light.

Thats the problem. We don't know, which is why I'm siding with the police and the CPS in that their isn't a case to answer.

Even if they thought they knew it for certain - and maybe they think that they do - that wouldn’t necessarily be enough to guarantee a conviction, or even a strong likelihood of one.

Why didn't they cancel.months ago if they wanted to do that?
