See we’re linked with Odin Thiago Holm today. Looks a bit raw from the vid I watched.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not sure we will shout "Go on, Holm"
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe you've got your eye on two more players
Brian British and Theo Soldjers.
Not debating that Rodgers isn't a good manager, but he came up here at a time when Rangers had just made it back into the league, and at a time when Celtic, having been rather frugal for a few years, decided to loosen the purse strings a little with Rangers back on the scene
Everything was setup for him to be successful
Also, people were talking about the football being turgid towards the end.
Going from his last game in charge back the way, results were as follows;
Celtic 5 - 0 St Johnstone
Celtic 2 - 0 Hibs
St Johnstone 0 - 2 Celtic
Celtic 2 - 0 St Johnstone
(At this point i think he was probably just sick of playing St Johnstone)
Celtic 3 - 0 Hamilton
Celtic 4 - 0 Hamilton
Celtic 3 - 0 Airdrieonians
Rangers 1 - 0 Celtic
Aberdeen 3 - 4 Celtic
Celtic 3 - 0 Dundee
Celtic 3 - 0 Motherwell
Hibs 2 - 0 Celtic
Celtic 1 - 2 RB Salzburg
Celtic 5 - 1 Kilmarnock
Motherwell 1 - 1 Celtic
Celtic 1 - 0 Aberdeen
Rosenborg 0 - 1 Celtic
Hamilton 0 - 3 Celtic
Livingston 0 - 0 Celtic
Cetlic 2 - 1 RB Leipzig
Celtic 5 - 0 Hearts
Dundee 0 - 5 Celtic
Hearts 0 - 3 Celtic
2.5 goals scored per game
0.3 goals conceded per game.
He wasnt waning, he was getting better.
I'm on repeat with this but its the main point.
Covid season 16 games dropped points
Rodgers second 14 games dropped points
I know the 90 minutes i had to endure of waiting for openings by passing the ball about the back 4.
Played a horrific rangers team

I think he is clearly a capable manager, at least when he joins the club.
there wouldnt be the same buzz however as before.
Before it was on the back drop of almost winning the league with Liverpool, kinda got screwed over with signings.
Now its on the back of leaving the fans witha bitter taste from last time and having a bit of meltdown in the end with Leicester.
He did still win everything he could up here and won a cup with Leicester. I think too many of the fans would be ready with knives out if he came back and a small few praying he slips up

Farke would be ideal.
For me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Farke will be joining Leeds this week, I am not impressed 😡
I still live in dreamland that we are going to speak to Iraola, ah well. Have to say out of all the names mentioned Rodgers is the one (and I use this word loosely) happiest with. If results are going the right way I doubt anyone will care about previous baggage.

If results are going the right way and his stock is high we will have zero faith that he will stick around until an apprpriate point like an end of season. An opportunity comes up at Villa, Bournemouth, Saudi, etc he will be off in an instant leaving us scrambling for a new manager

Accept that, but same case will be made for any manager that comes in, that's the reality we are facing given the league we are in.
Apparently Stevie Slippy G is heading to Saudi to manage some team.
The reality for a Celtic manager now is that there's only two likely outcomes.
He does badly and gets punted in a year.
Or he does well and is gone in 2/3 years.
Rodgers would be exactly the same as every other candidate in that respect.
"Or he does well and is gone in 2/3 years."
Flitting to England or wherever mid season regardless of circumstances leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
If Rodgers gets the job he's going to have to live with a divided support. Anybody else will have the supporters full backing from the get go.......

Of course they'll be divided. Totally agree on the timing thing though.
Having said that, he left with the league wrapped up and gave the board plenty of time to get it sorted. Not his fault that they made a pig's ear of it.
Ange stayed to the end of the season but we're now scrambling to get someone in. It cuts both ways.

The league wasn't wrapped up at that point. Defeat to Hearts days after he left could have had repercussions. That's why we went mental at Eduoard scoring late on.
The win and then the cup win days later eased the worry but he left us going into two big games at the drop of a hat.
I think we were all in agreement that he needed to go that summer. It had become stale. Leaving in the summer would have given us time to plan properly and not appoint someone in the shower.
Ange leaving in the summer gives us time to plan. It is not comparable to a manager leaving at the drop of a hat.

Mind the last time we appointed a previous manager again (Lennon). Rodgers is a good manager but I have serious reservations about him given his record of running out of steam after 2 years and losing the dressing room.
Rodger’s is the type who would fook off again to England in a heartbeat, that said he is undoubtedly a good coach sets very high professional standards and in my opinion over a season would have the beating of Beale no problem

Indeed CT. There are massive reasons why it would not be a good move for either of them far less for the club.
More importantly, who is it approving the purchase of the Holms guy? Assume our scouts have done their homework but £2.6m is a significant chunk. And would he sign for an unknown manager?

Holm probably been in the works/identified while Ange was here - imagine he's quite happy to take the gamble at exposure in a better league and possibly in European football if he's good enough for the 1st team. Which at £2.6m he bloody better be!
