I think a lot of Rangers fans are quite happy with our manager. As to Rodgers and the feelings of many Celtic fans, win his first six games or so, and he will be a hero once more. Lose two or three and it may well be shark time in the car park
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't think so mate, at least not with fans with a sensible head. We've seen it too often before.
What bugs me most is being able to say how it will go, with evidence from beforehand, it goes that way, yet upper management can't see it coming, or worse, think it will be different this time. Absolute madness

There are reasons to believe / hope how it could be different but hard to see being addressed
- has his playing philosophy changed?
- have we addressed who buys players?
- have we agreed to buy the £3-500k analysis suite?
- have we agreed to build the full size indoor pitch?
- has he agreed to cut the porkies about the Clyde tunnel and fck knows what else?
- has Lawwell been told to keep his snout out?
- does he still have his cellik reg plate?
- will his missus get involved again?
- is the wee dirty in Hamilton still looking for a ride?
Tiny hands, big questions.
Fck me, typing all that for a laugh but ffs it illustrates all the barriers that scream makes no sense.

Surprised Celtic are back in for him given the way he left - they say never go back
Funnily enough plenty of Celtic fans warned us about him at Leicester. We couldn’t understand it - first couple of seasons he was brilliant - but then again he walked into an amazing set up with a fantastic recruitment team and a very good set of players
By the time he left we’d had to sack his head of recruitment, try and get rid of players he wanted to sign only months before after he didn’t want to play them, deal with a horrendous backlog of injuries never seen before and listen to his constant complaining of the board for not giving him more money after he’d burned through it by signing junk
I think as a 2 season stint he’s fine. Will never be a top manager and a big part to play in our relegation
Celtic have just won a treble, and some are thinking we care about the type of football we should be playing
Don't give a toss what brand of football we play if it brings results
Gio inherited Gerard's team and got the new manager bounce for a while....then he brought in some of his own players, and we were rank rotten, worst UCL team ever and skelped royally by Celtic
Keep putting Beale down, will only make yous look that much more stupid if he gets the better of whoever your board pluck from the ether

The UCL point is made too often. We had James Sands and Leon King in defence for a good few games. Even the Liverpool game, we were winning or drawing when Goldson went off.
The Ajax games we were pash but any team our size that’s missing 4 or 5 of your best centre half’s would struggle.
Also nothing to do with players he brought in, was injuries and players that had been with us too long that had a poor mentality, plus a keeper well over the hill. Plus his slow style of play. We still got a ridiculous points total that would usually win the league. Credit simply has to go to Celtic.

This is exactly our frustration. That’s our boards job and they appear to have failed miserably. We should always have a small list of up and coming bright talent to approach.
Clearly they don’t.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Who would be on that list?
I mean surely if you are slating the club for not having a list....you must have folk in mind that should be in the frame?

Eh?

I'm sorry mate, but Gio can be held responsible for a lot of what you have spoken about above
Helander was long term injured, Souttar was unproven, we made the decision to let Balogun despite the fact he was probably our best option to partner Goldson...Gio was involved in all this decision making
Players that had been with us too long and had a poor mentality....surely Gio was involved in the decision to keep these guys beyond the summer before Thier contract expired
A keeper well over the hil...again, you telling me Gio wasn't responsible for keeping McGregor on, the guy basically said his goodbyes then signs a new 1 year contract, along with Davis....last year was the time to let these guys go, Beale has finally made the calls Gio should have made last summer
I agree credit has to go to Celtic...but we would have been much further behind them if it's wasn't for Beale coming in and steadying the ship a bit
Agree Gio fooked us last season.
Injuries hampered an already domestically pash manager. We would have done a bit better with our best players available no doubt but we still would have done schite imo.
The Balogun release was pure stupidity.

Of course I can criticise my teams board ffs. am I supposed to be some happy flappy fan that just pays his not immodest sums of money over and not expect some degree of foresight and planning.
The notion you seem to hold that they may have spoken to some imagined list of other potential managers prior to begging Rodgers to come back is simplistic fantasy at its finest.

Well that's a reaction ffs
GVB got a raw deal but it doesn't mean he was ever going to be any more than an average Rangers Manager.
When Goldson got injured under Beale for just a few games the same patterns emerged so lets not pretend Beale came in and waved a magic wand. Goldson's injury was massive for us last season and would have impacted whoever was in charge.
Under GVB outside the Celtic games we lost 1 game domestically in all competitions over the year he was in charge.
The UCL argument is valid, however I'd suggest it overlooks the achievement to even get us there to begin with. People forget that to qualify we beat a Belgian side who got narrowly knocked out in the quarters of the Europa - becoming the first Rangers team to ever overturn a 2 goal deficit in Europe in the process - and beat PSV over 2 legs including a win in Holland. He then went in to the UCL with King and Sands as his back line. There's not a Manager I can think of who would have done any better.
That said the injury build up wasn't coicidence and was a result of a poor pre season. The players were nowhere near as fit this season as they had been the year before. Whether he identified the players or not he would certainly have had the final say and he bought poorly.
Ultimately though Rangers ended up with a points total that ironically would have comfortably won the league in 2/3 of the seasons Rodgers was at Celtic and maybe had he been in charge of Rangers at a different time we would be looking at GVB as a Rangers Manager with back to back titles, a Euro final and Scottish Cup in his first 2 seasons. Bordering legendary status.
Unfortunately Celtic have just been better and deserve credit for the consistency they have shown domestically over the same period.
Be interesting to see what kind of budget DD has sanctioned should BR arrive, not fussed about his salary that’s purely between an employer and their employee and IMO their business and no one else’s. In all walks of life you agree your salary with your employer football is no different. It’s the budget to improve the squad I am curious about

These boards are full of such nonsensical questions being posed as if they were from some luminary.
Who would you have on your list were Beale to leave or be sacked?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't know, but I wouldn't be slating our board for not having their $hit together, if I didn't have the foggiest idea who they were potentially looking at, or speaking with
Pretty obvious they are speaking with Rodgers, but do you know if he was top of the list, 2nd choice, third choice?
Just don't understand why you are criticising your board when you have no idea who they have listed and have potentially spoken with before, or even after Rodgers

----------------------------------------------------------------------
The UCL point is made too often.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm sorry mate, but Gio can be held responsible for a lot of what you have spoken about above

See if not Rodgers....who do you want?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is exactly our frustration.

What a pile of unadulterated nonsense.
Nice of you to take a turn at defending our board mind but as ever I suspect you’re on your usual sheite stirring exercise to get a reaction.
Dearie me. Things mist be bad in the St3vie household. Away and play with something else man

There will no doubt be 10-15m available plus the potential money from the Hatate and Kyogo sales.
Don't see you spending it all if they are sold though.

You think he’s going to come back on a massively increased salary to be given such a tiny budget and be asked to sell players if he wants to increase those transfer kitty funds?
