To all those attacking Vice as a source, that was one random article reporting basically the same story among many others, both left- and right-leaning media (from the Guardian to the Sun). And as I said, the key Tate quotes about his grooming method are on videos he freely circulated.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That doesn’t mean that it’s anything other than terrible journalism, whether repeated or not.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But that's rather beside the point that I was making, which was reminding the forum (at a time when several people were actively defending him on the basis that there's nothing wrong with him) of some of the things that Tate has indisputably said. I didn't post it as an example of great journalism, and didn't invite people to endorse the framing of the article itself, which in fact I didn't read: it was just the first search result I found when looking for the quotes I recalled watching come from his own mouth. I could have shared a Guardian article, in which case there would have been a chorus of "ah, of course progressives are out to get him" or a Sun article - "do you believe what they print in the Sun?" But the fact is multiple journalistic sources confirm the same quotes, which are also available on a video that to the best of my knowledge he produced himself, where he describes how he manipulates women to fall in love with him, tries them out to see if they are "quality" and then uses their emotional attachment to him to induce them to perform in front of webcams. There are a few people who are explicitly defending him on this forum who haven't directly engaged with this, and I wanted to challenge them to acknowledge this is part of what they are endorsing, and put them on the record as to whether they think this is also fine. In this context, nit-picking about Vice seems pedantic.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Typical deflection technique to avoid the key issue. No surprises on who the posters are.
All the good things that Tate has ever said are basic common sense. He isn't some kind of visionary. All the bad things he says are way out there and serving to damage young males and distort in their minds what is a healthy relationship. He is a dangerous man and it astounds me that anyone is even remotely defending him.
Well said Elvis.
SatNav, if you're determined to give him the benefit of the doubt, and think there could be mitigating context that makes his "make them fall in love with me, try them out to see if they are quality, and use their emotional attachment to me to convince them to perform on webcams" somehow not terrible, you're welcome to go out and look for it. I watched him talk about what he does in his own words, which was enough for me, and I don't feel responsible for how you form your own views. However, it's telling that his fans, who undoubtedly have consumed far more Tate content than either of us, aren't engaging with / contradicting / providing any different explanation for what I've shared.

I think it is one part of the fundamental progress we have made as a society to give the benefit of the doubt / presumption of innocence until proven guilty. Something that I think we should all do our best to adhere to. You seem to have made your mind up, I’ll just wait until the authorities make their conclusion. I think that given that two girls have already been proven to have completely fabricated allegations against him, I think it’s even more reasonable to give the man the benefit of the doubt. Let us take a moment to consider what it is like to be accused of such things and for them to not only not be true but have been completely made up by people simply looking for financial gain? So yes, I’ll give the benefit of the doubt until a legal decision has arrived.
Regardless of the legal outcome, I do think that, even if we are to take his word as completely true & accurate that his words are taken out of context et cetera, that he still has to shoulder at least part of the blame as it’s still a very likely consequence of his actions that young boys/young men will be encouraged to act in a misogynistic fashion and think of women as objects or to quote Charlie Sheen in Two and Half Men ‘vaginas that talk’. I don’t have much doubt that he was aware what was happening and was happy to profit from it.
One example a lack of context that he cited on the BBC interview was something along the lines of ‘men own women’s bodies’ and he explained that it was in response to an onlyfans woman who earlier said that her man’s car belongs to her. He therefore later said ‘ah so your tiddies belong to your man’ in a jokingly reply to the earlier car comment and apparently the woman was laughing along with him and agreed.
I don’t have time nor sufficient interest to watch hour / two hour long podcasts to confirm or refute, so I’ll just be lazy and wait for the legal decision. My only experience is on short videos from a year ago or so when it was almost impossible to not see him online and the recent BBC interview in full.

Part of me thinks the liberals get so upset with him because their own movement has no personalities, just robots.

So the thing your lot look for in a rapist is charisma? Are there any other qualities that make for a good rapist? The last thing you want is a boring/robotic rapist. They are not going to get much of a following.
