Yet it is the officials device?
Yes.
Here’s you getting confused with ‘match officials’ and ‘official clock’.
Easily done for someone as thick as you.
DJ’s replies getting quicker now. Desperately trying to get the article shut down, no doubt.
I've not really followed this debate but would an official clock be like basketball or ice hockey say with no interpretation from the officials?
Or I am missing the point? (again)

----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’d be an official timing that is open and monitored.
The point was that there’s not an official clock that is stopped for stoppages.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No watch is ever stopped by the official timekeeper. The (referee) will usually use his second watch that he has on his person to add on time segments, as and when he thinks time is being wasted. So when his main watch reaches the full 45 minutes he will refer to his second watch and call out the total amount of added time that will be played.

I think we need to get definitions of official and unofficial time keeping before this can be resolved.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’ll never be resolved because DJ can’t admit when he’s wrong.
There’s nothing in the games literature or laws about an official clock. He made it up because he made a stupid comment and then dug a hole.
He usually gets away with it because people give up. As you know, that won’t work with me.
So the ref is not the official timekeeper and his watch is not the official timekeeping device
How is the final whistle determined btw?
DJ desperately trying to weave the word ‘official’ into sentences where they don’t belong.
Making stuff up, as he goes.
What a mess.

He has to keep his eyes on the match and make all the decisions. Why the hell would they force him to also time the match when there are millions around the world who can watch and tell the time? Makes zero sense

What’s the point of explaining that to you? You are too thick to understand.
Pretty sure the ref decides when the final whistle is blown.

Dont go bringing facts into it...it just clouds judgement...Winston is desperately struggling with what little he has to work with already...he's got very confused about the concept of time...sent him dizzy
The ref does decide.
Doesn’t mean there’s an official clock.
