Bunch of bedwetters is why. Na of course we're frustrated at having won nothing for so long. But instead of understanding the various reasons why it's starting to become toxic in that every bad result or poor performance is related back to that. And of course at some level it's warranted. We should be pizzed off we didn't have a decent go at the League Cup this season. But then to your point, that doesn't (or shouldn't anyway) mask the progress we've made as a club since we last won something.
Also I knew you'd bring up Mane. Wasn't a toptop player when he signed. I figure that's why you didn't use Salah instead
Except we understand only too well the reasons why.

Great opportunity either way for him. He has, repeatedly, stated his love for Liverpool and long before these rumours and him in management in general.
But it’s Bayern.
Less work to do on the Liverpool squad but also harder to win stuff.
50/50, so I really don’t know. Heart says yes, head says no.
I hope so though.
Mane chose Varpool because they offered him higher wages which Levy wasn`t prepared to match or better.
He was all set to join Spurs, had a look around the training ground etc but in the end went for the higher wages, which is what 98% of footballers will do.
Therein lies Spurs biggest problem, the facilities are second to none but the wages on offer can be bettered elsewhere.

I don't think it's nonsense to suggest we could have got him if we had offered higher wages. We were the team on the ascendency back then as well finishing above United and Liverpool. It was a definite failure on the part of Levy and the club.
We have to hope that having now got our new stadium this won't interfere as much with signings, if that indeed is what stood in the way of us signing certain players back then like Mane and Grealish. We have started increasing spending it looks like, so now we need Levy to also not be as stingy when it comes to negotiations.

No no no. That's just accepting medioricrity. Remember Mack and Cheese said we shouldn't do that.
We also need to spend £100m on a player for the sake of it to show the length of our dikc for the hell of it. All because Woolwich did.
Also worth mentioning that we're in London. Young foreign players right now might look at the league and choose Liverpool or City but really, the draw of London is always underestimated, particularly if they have partners that want easy transport links back to their home countries. Not to mention the fact that it's multicultural. Liverpool doesn't come close on that front. If Liverpool dip, as surely they will after Klopp goes, and we gain momentum, there's absolutely no reason why a player wouldn't join us over them. The location is better so the only sticking point, and this is where Levy comes in, is the wage structure. Who know though, if FFP is enforced as it should be, we'll be in a sound position to pay more than most clubs will.
The absurd idea that we haven't got the big players because they want to go somewhere bigger is frankly ridiculous. Allison came from Roma and VVD from Celtic. Those are players we could have enticed at that stage. It's not a question of whether they would, it's whether we're willing to pay the money required to get them, both transfer fees and wages. That's down to Levy.
I don’t think there is much point going over transfers we have missed out on due to levy and his tight approach
At that point we were planning for a new stadium (may have my time lines skewered though ) so it was understandable to be careful and even when we weren’t careful look what we got (sissoko, ndombele )
Since the new stadium has been fully all systems go I don’t see a stingy approach at all
I say give levy and Ange a chance and that means two seasons of working together …..if things aren’t working we can all go crazy together , I’ll probably be at the front of the queue

It's about smart recruitment. I'm certainly not moaning about where we currently are. I always accepted this was a transitionary season but if, and it's a big if, we end up getting close, as we did under Poch when we finished 3rd and 2nd, we're going to need to go all in at some stage to buy that one or two gold nuggets for big money in order to get us over the line. That's why the Liverpool reference to Allison and VVD is so important. No one is pizzed off with where we are. We're just apprehensive about where any future success really takes us and whether Levy has the gumption to go again. It's not unreasonable to have those doubts given we got to the edge before and fell apart because the owners ambitions didn't match those of the manager and players.
I'm optimistic about Ange and even if we finished in the Europa League places, it wouldn't be a disaster given we only recently lost Kane but there's nothing wrong with looking ahead. I think a lot of fans feel like there is ultimately a ceiling at this club because however close we get, Levy won't go into fifth gear to get us over the line as the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool have done (as those are the two financial levels similar to our own)
I’d be interested to know from the people who are moaning what did they actually expect from this season?
New manger
Completely new way of playing after Jose and conte destroyed us with toxicity and the most boring football I’ve ever seen from us
Losing the best striker in the world (for me)
Creating a new squad and shipping out the has beens
Were we then suppose to challenge for the league and domestic cups instantly ? Things we haven’t done for a few years (especially the cups)
It takes time …especially with everything being changed

I think these two statements are the root of it. Moaning about not signing Mane is silly when we dropped all that money on Sanchez, Ndombele, Sessegnon, Conte's wages.. the real issue in recent years hasn't been spending per se but Levy's lack of nous when it comes to deciding when and where to spend. But yes some of that was informed by his determination that top 4 was a priority above all else. Certainly in the Poch era, that was clear and obvious.
My hope is that with Paractici's restructuring work and the guys like Munn and Lange that have been brought in since we're moving away from Levy getting involved in any football decisions. Because frankly it's maddening that he still would think he should be

The league was easier in the Poch era. Fergie and Wenger just left. Think he had a headstart on Pep and maybe Klopp?
The landscape of the Prem has changed since then so silly to compare.
Levy overpaid for Johnson by alot but he could still come good. Dragusin was quoted at £17m before we came in. Paid £27 in the end. Micky cost £43m. He only played two seasons and was brought for £10m by his former team.
Porro was expensive, so was Richy. The tide has changed. You just choose to ignore it.

In an article published by Digispor, Mates reported: “At the moment, the highest paid is Heung-min Son, who is on £195-200k a week. Dragusin has around £50-60k per week.
“What I can tell you is that it is more than we would have expected, it is a bit more than Tottenham would have expected to offer.
“We have learned that Tottenham have slightly increased their bid in the context of Bayern Munich’s offer. They said: ‘OK, if he shows loyalty, if he shows that he keeps his word to come we will reward him’. This is where Daniel Levy intervened, he gave him a six-year contract. This contract means: ‘I give you more money, but you also give me an extra year’. That means somewhere around €3m for Dragusin’s contract.
Levy is still very much involved.

It's about smart recruitment ... we got to the edge before and fell apart because the owners ambitions didn't match those of the manager and players.
