Or maybe you just never watched United live.
An exceptional player. One of United’s best ever.

Drogba is one that came to mind. Always pops up in conversations about the best strikers in the league but his goal record only has 2 good seasons in it from 9. Yes he scored in some big games but he also messed up in the first CL final when he got sent off. Chelsea may have won it if he hadn't.
You only have to look at his Wiki page. Someone on there has overrated him a lot. They've added a 'Records' section, something many other great strikers don't even have and it's mainly full of pointless records.

People really don’t know what they’re talking about when it comes to drogba. Including his stint when he came back as an old man, he has a goal every 168 minutes for chelsea in the pl. That’s as a sole striker who prominently played with his back to goal for a large part.
That’s also not including his 64 assists.
His goal involvements per game in the premier league is every 98 minutes. With added time of games that’s basically a goal involvement a game.
I think because of afcon, injuries and him getting malaria, people have a look and say “only scores 20 goals in 2 season!” But really don’t analyse the actual numbers and how effective he was.
I doubt many players have a higher goal contribution per minute in pl history.

We all know he's a good player, he's just overrated IMO. The very good goal scoring seasons show what he was capable of but there wasn't enough of it, even with injury problems. Kane had injury struggles himself but it wasn't so bad he only scored 5 in 24.
Drogba has also had some great players around him and worked under a couple of excellent managers.

Also did you have a look at his Wiki page and how under the Honours section they've really gone to town on making him look as good as possible?
No I didn’t. But why you’d be swayed by his wiki page is random
Because it shows how people overrate him. Other PL goal scoring legends don't get a 'Records' segment on their Wiki page, filled with pointless records like:
'One of six players to score a hat-trick in consecutive Premier League games'
If this sort of thing was done for Kane it would probably dwarf Drogba's.
Wait because someone has put his records on wiki lol what a stretch. Also drogba legacy is probably more impressive than Kanes tbh
I use it as an example of how people give him too much credit, which is my experience whenever I listen or read about conversations of great strikers in the league.
Kane is by far a better striker and player than Drogba though.
How much credit should the 5th most effective striker in terms of goals and assists, with a final record he has, have then? I don’t get ur point tbh, seems like u just chose not to rate him and when provided with data you won’t change your mind.
