Essex getting rattled through again so will need Cook and Porter to rescue them again. Needed one or two to have a bit of a dash really, being defensive means you'll have one with your name on it eventually. Somerset will still need the biggest score of the game to win though.

Not looking good
Essex losing their last 4 wickets for 1 run is going to cost them here. I know it's a low scoring game and obviously very hard to bat out there but I felt we had to set them around 200 to have enough. Snater has fought back well with the ball but always feels easier to chase a total in a game like this when you have the momentum of rolling a side out cheaply in the second innings.

Still coming to terms with the Jimmy retirement will have to do an article on him at some point.
Kind of feel like it's a good decision but it's amazing how one man retiring suddenly opens the door so much. I guess with the age of Wood and Woakes, the under performing Robinson following on from the retirement of Broad, after a series in India where we played 1 pacer at times. There is suddenly a wealth of bowlers being talked about but actually, the problem is there isn't one or two stand out candidates.
The stand out on the county circuit for the last 5, 6, 7 years is Sam Cook. Rob Key name checked him a couple of times as I think he's seen as the most skilful bowler on the circuit, despite not having the pace. The fact that that he's seen as an outsider shows they want guys who bowl 85mph or more.
Interestingly Woakes nor Potts do that and they are seen as the guys who will likely play the first and second test in the summer (with Jimmy in the first test and Woof in the second) Tongue looks set to miss a decent chunk of the summer and Archer is nowhere near a test return. So who are the quicks England should be looking at this summer?
Surrey in a bit of trouble even with that big partnership. They'll claw it back because they always do and still end up getting in excess of 350 before bowling Worcesterhire out for 220 or less.
Lancashire's top order have finally fired for them against a Durham side featuring Ben Stokes who seems to be doing a decent amount of bowling and has just taken a wicket.

Ollie Robinson also bowls at around the same pace as Snaters dooblie doblies.
Expect Clark and Abbott to put on 150 plus.
Don't get why we've forced Jimmy to retire after 1 game personally.
Fair enough he won't be the man to take to Australia but Broad has already retired, Robinson either can't stay fit or lacks discipline, Wood can't play more than 2 games is a row, and Woakes is crap everywhere but England.
We've basically got to have rookies now form our bowling line-up, and I don't understand why you wouldn't have Jimmy around for the whole summer to help guide them.
