Lunch scores:
Division One:
Durham 265 v Somerset 171 & 19-2
Hampshire 204-1 v Surrey 127
Kent v Essex 449-6
Lancashire v Warwickshire 166-4
Worcestershire 77-9 v Nottinghamshire - still in play
Division Two:
Gloucestershire v Derbyshire 526
Leicestershire 57-2 x v Glamorgan 387
Middlesex v Sussex 385-4
Northamptonshire 84-1 v Yorkshire 362.
I thought Essex might declare at lunch but it looks like they will try to make sure they don't have to bat again.
When Snater scores runs freely you just know it will be hard to bowl out Kent twice.
Well we've got Crawley out. He could have halved our score by the end of the day. Critchley and Harmer will be key you'd think despite us having the 4 seamers. I guess with 6 bowlers we can try to enforce the follow on even if it takes us a while to bowl them out first time. Compton will get his usual hundred.
Hampshire are grinding Surrey into the dirt which is lovely to see. Somerset could lose by an innings despite Durham only scoring 265, Stokes continues to enjoy bowling at the moment, 8 wickets in the match for him to go with his 7 from last week.
Thought I'd watch Hampshire Surrey for a bit and I'd forgotten how utterly insane it is when Lawrence bowls. It actually comes out quite nicely at the release point but all the flailing he does makes it seem like he's trying to take off. Another great day with Hampshire absolutely miles ahead.
Nice finish for Essex with Critchley grabbing a couple of wickets late in the day. A wonderful day for Cox who I'm pretty sure got a hundred in the home game vs Kent so backing that up with a double just to give two fingers to his old team.
100 for Haseeb Hameed.
Close of play:
Division One:
Durham 265 v Somerset 171 & 88
Durham won by an innings and six runs
Hampshire 495-4 v Surrey 127
Hampshire lead by 368 with 6 wickets standing
Kent 118-4 v Essex 591-7 dec
Kent trail by 473 with 6 wickets standing
Lancashire 66-3 v Warwickshire 284
Lancashire trail by 218 with 7 wickets standing
Worcestershire 80 v Nottinghamshire 234-3
Nottinghamshire lead by 154 with 7 wickets standing
Division Two:
Gloucestershire 243-4 v Derbyshire 526
Gloucestershire trail by 283 with 6 wickets standing
Leicestershire 280-5 x v Glamorgan 387
Leicestershire trail by 107 with 5 wickets standing
Middlesex 62-1 v Sussex 554-9 dec
Middlesex trail by 492 with 9 wickets standing
Northamptonshire 301 v Yorkshire 362 & 0-1
Yorkshire lead by 61 with 9 wickets standing.
The task got slightly tougher with Sam Cook now seemingly out for the rest of the game. At least a 4th seamer was picked so we have a 3 man pace attack with the 2 spinners who will hopefully be able to pick up a lot of the slack in the second innings especially.

Lunch scores:

Leicestershire 300-6 v Glamorgan 387
Middlesex 140-1 v Sussex 554-9 dec
Northamptonshire 301 v Yorkshire 362 & 43-2.
Rubbish morning session, couldn't even get Parkinson out. At least he's out now but we need a burst of 2 more in the afternoon here and then need to get the tail out quick and go again. Could be the second game this season that costs us having Cook missing. Which means we will really struggle if he gets called up to England.
Hampshire aren't losing to Surrey from here but hopefully they can get the win as well as that would leave Surrey with 1 single point from this game. And that point was just about achieved as they got the 3rd wicket they needed with 10 balls to go before the cut off.
Can't see Essex winning now but Surrey should get demolished which helps us close the gap. Just a shame we didn't pick up a few more batting points.
Critchley gets 5, 2 for Westley. Really need Harmer to pull his thumb out in the second innings if we are to win this one.
Surrey have been well and truly thumped. Very surprising but hopefully shows the rest of the division they aren't an almighty force and can be humbled.

Indeed. It was a pleasant surprise to see wickets tumbling when I got up yesterday morning.
Thought Kent would put up more of a fight given how well they played on day 3. But Snater getting Crawley set the tone early for the day and he and Harmer both really stepped up after Critchley's first innings brilliance with the ball.
The County Championship is back today.
Essex v Durham (The Cloud County Ground)
Glamorgan v Northamptonshire (Sophia Gardens)
Kent v Lancashire (Spitfire Ground, Canterbury)
Middlesex v Derbyshire (Lord’s)
Nottinghamshire v Somerset (Trent Bridge)
Sussex v Leicestershire (1st Central County Ground)
Warwickshire v Hampshire (Edgbaston)
Worcestershire v Surrey (New Road)
Yorkshire v Gloucestershire (Scarborough).
The pinnacle returns!
Hopefully Little Chef will be back for the Eagles after missing the opening spell of the blast campaign. Porter having not featured at all will hopefully be nice and fresh as well. It would be nice to see Pepper bring his blast form into the CC and if he doesn't get an England T20 game against an associate or something like that one day to open with Salt then I will never forgive the selectors.
The great news is that I think the weather looks pretty good up and down the country so hopefully we get a lot of cricket played.
Bowler watch I guess is the big thing. I believe Anderson will be playing for Lancs as a tune up game for his big send off. Woakes is back for Warwickshire after the loss of his father. Potts will be hoping to make an impression against one of the title contenders who have some players in good form with the bat.
Pennington at Notts seems to be the bowler who is being fancied as the one who will come into the set up this summer. Tall and a little quicker than the majority of the fast medium pacers on the county circuit. He's managed to stay fit and is just a few behind the leading wicket takers of Porter, Cook and Worrall.
No Jimmy or Cook. Woakes is back bowling though.
Essex have brought in some seam cover though in the form of a South African lad called Ethan Bosch who has a decent FC record and is supposedly quite quick so hopefully he can make a difference for the 4 games have him for.
Bashir plays for Worcestershire against Surrey with Leach playing for Somerset. You assume Leach will play in the test matches if he stays fit.

Is Khushi injured. I don’t recall seeing him in the Blast either.
