First time I've had any interest in country cricket for probably 30 years.
Hope Somerset do it!

Surrey under the pump in their semi vs Somerset who are on for the treble at the moment. Can they start it off with by defending their T20 Blast trophy today?

Looking like a South West final unless Sussex can do anything a bit special.

An extremely awful effort from Sussex although I expect Somerset to be too strong for Glos but who knows, they've got some useful players, guys like Oli Price probably deserve a white ball place in the England squad but Glos obviously is not a fashionable county.

Glos chasing feels like their best chance, Somerset have enough to bat them out of the game but I don't think Glos do so need to bowl well and hope for a score of 160 or less.

Incredible victory for Gloucestershire but not great for finals day that they won both games at an absolute canter. The Surrey Somerset semi was a little better but once Rew and Dickson got going, they cruised to victory. So whilst it took a T20 finals day record partnership to do it, once they were half way there, they were comfortably on target.

Fortunately for the competition, one of the "smaller" counties winning it is great for the game.

Fack Somerset

Either Edgbaston has a dodgy wicket today or Snater has his dibbly dobblies back on track.

We will find out in a bit, Hannon Dalby has a habit of running through us.

It's a Snater game where he comes off with both bat and ball. Essex have ripped through the top order now as well. Warwickshire could lose by a decent innings margin here which given Essex scored 230 odd wouldn't be great.

I notice Potts isn't playing for Durham, neither is Ben Raine so Surrey are facing a 16 year old making his debut, a 19 year old playing his third game along with an emergency overseas signing. Lucky them eh?

Ryan Patel has been at the crease for 70 minutes and he's only faced 28 deliveries.

Big Rocky Flintoff now at the crease doing a grand old job.

Warwickshire's innings flies to an end. Shame we got that 12 point deduction. Could have made an interesting finale without it. Bloomin' Khushi! Unless Surrey and Lancs win of course.

I feel like he needs to leave to go and be a regular somewhere and establish himself a position. Feels like he bats somewhere different every time he plays between 1 and about 9.

He has batted in the top 3 more often than not, and he gets a lot of games because we get so many international call-ups. He's actually had a decent season this year, best I can remember certainly. Think he averages over 50 this summer.

I just don't think he's an especially good player, really. That's his fundamental issue. Good knock today though for sure, and a great time for it

posted on 18/9/24

Didn't realise he had been as good as that but I was surprised to see his overall batting average under 30 with his bowling over 60. I thought he was better in both assets of his game. But yeah, I don't think he's good enough for Surrey which is why I think he needs to go and play div 2 cricket for a while and maybe bowl a bit more than he does.

Looks like a potentially season defining day though. The title could be pretty much done by close of play tomorrow. Somerset need to find a way to win as Essex will be keen to stop Surrey in the final game.

That 12 pt deduction and the loss to Worcester really killed us.

Bedingham out for 60 runs in the match. I'll take that.

He was the key for Durham getting anything in the second innings. Curran getting him and Ollie Robinson out cheaply is massive. Somerset are done as well, crazy how both teams were skittles for less than 150 but then one side suddenly piles on 400.

Emiliano Gay is a good player but these loans or whatever for a game or two are hard to follow, doesn't the guy open for Northants? Once this partnership goes though, the game is done.
