Right, I've been in a different dimension for the last week and on full recovery mode. Cox out with appendicitis. I've also seen Khushi has gone to Kent on loan. Could have done with him with Coxy out. Shame his appendix couldn't have caused him problems a few days early. Hopefully he recovers quickly.
Anderson bowling well, he has a bright future that man!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Assuming Cox had his appendix removed, he will probably miss the next month.
Strange move shipping Kushi out on loan. I saw that on the club website the other day. I prefer him to Browne.
Hard to see Essex getting what ever Surrey leave them as we don’t look like scoring runs after Walter.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah I saw on twitter that he had it removed on Monday so assume he will miss a fair few games in the blast and the start of the one day competition although he may not have played much in that anyway given he plays for for the Oval Invincibles in The Hundred.
Batting for the draw now, hopefully with some help from the rain. Yeah Browne has been pretty ordinary for a few years now which is why I was glad to see Khushi get a go. It would be so much better for him to be playing spending time with Elgar rather than Browne.

Division Two:

Ffs, I've just finished worked and put the coverage on and the first two balls I've watched have been Tom Lawes getting Westley and Critchley out. Better turn it off before I get the whole team out!
Lawes has killed us today! Jordan Cox has been a huge miss, could have been a really close game if he were able to have a bat. Two more wickets for the title to look like it's heading back to The Oval again.

Indeed. It looks like Harmer is coming down to mere mortal level now. He is not bowling very well and is not getting valuable runs like he has done in recent years.

Good to see Bracey is having a decent season and looks to be enjoying himself again, after being completely hung out to dry for England.
That catch was absurd.
Michael Pepper with another awesome century. Now has 480 odd runs at an average of 48 and a strike rate of over 200. He will certainly be getting a few franchise deals, if he can have a good hundred then he will probably get himself an IPL deal.
The most important element of this is getting him into the England T20 side to bat with Salt. Make it happen ECB. Salt opens but Pepper has been batting at 3 so we can make it happen without overly forcing it by opening with him. Especially as Buttler should still open.

Yep, shame as lost to Surrey. We were cruising when Rossington and Pepper were batting although it did concern me that both were trying to smash the ball to the moon. Quick singles were never on offer and we couldn't ever get a 2 due to Rossington being so massive. Still can't believe he's a professional athlete . He can whack a ball to his credit but you also need to turn 1s into 2s which he will never do.
"Athlete" doing a lot of heavy lifting there TCM
I'd say most cricketers are exceptional athletes, especially the t20 guys who have to be pretty agile and athletic in the field. Obviously keeper seems to be one place where you can get away with being a bit larger these days with Rossington still having a career along with Azam Khan playing in the world cup.
Yeah, most cricketers are absolutely athletes. I'm saying it's an interesting word to use in Rossington's case
Then again, remember that Dwayne Leverock catch...
Indeed, I'm throwing all the cricketers together under professional athlete but he's more in the when Andy Fordham refereed to himself as an athlete mould
One day cup where all the guys without hundred contracts aka decent county champo bats and the youngsters get a go. Essex have a decent looking side but have been undone by a monster unbeaten hundred from Ed Barnard, opening the batting, captaining the side, top player.
Another good win for the Foxes over Nottinghamshire, this time in the One Day Cup.

I think we are ok batting, but we are light on the wicket taking front.
'Rocky Flintoff made a creditable 32 on his County Championship debut, but it was champions Surrey who ruthlessly took first-day honours at The Oval. After being put in, Lancashire were bowled out for 204 inside 59 overs, before Surrey replied with 83 for no wicket'.
