Fingers crossed on Oxford winning the League 1 play off final.

They'll be favourites for the bottom spot in Championship. Just need QPR and (quick look at the table) Millwall to go down with them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm hoping Forest go down with them.

Regards the LR rumours I'm finding it hard to believe, he's such a nice guy and comes across as a decent individual.

JFK was a nice guy but was quite fond of the ladies...a two a day man I've read.

Wouldn't we all be given the chance? 🤔

Yes but I think I'm too old these days. But I'd give it a go.

ELEVEN years ago today we signed a centre forward who went on to become a modern day legend.

Best free signing in my opinion. Can't believe it was back in 2013 we got Chris Martin.

OK, I'll tell it as it was told to me. This was not from some random geezer in the pub.... this was from a "proper source "... he was let go from because, quote " he could not keep his c**k in his trousers"...

It could be, of course, that the poor guy just had prostate problems.

Latest transfer rumour:

Thierry Small (LB) Charlton

The left back joined Charlton this season after being released by Southampton. Charlton have an option of an one year extension so it is likely Derby will have to fork out a fee for the player, how much hard to say but you expect close to £1 million (based on appearances)

Small is described as a powerful and pacey left-back with good ball-striking ability and stamina. He is also able to play in central defence or on the left-wing.

At 19 he's very young and someone who has his better years ahead of him. Based on his style Forsyth would be handy to have around to support/coach him. Additionally with Small being a Charlton player he would have formed a strong playing relationship with CBT which could be of benefit to the winger. Thirdly, Thiery makes for a good footballer name!

Not as developed or experienced as Burrows (Oeterboro' who would be my first call but he's likely to be three times more the price. Burrows does have an excellent assist record for a LB at 14 compared to 1 solitary assist by Small. Also if Sibley is to be considered as a LWB and the back up is Small I'd see that as a critically weak spot for us. We definitely need a strong defensive LB as an alternative option similar to at RB where we have Wilson and ward as attacking defenders and Nyambe as a solid rock.

Nice interview with Birdz on the DCFC website.

So many clowns in the comments just focusing on his ‘backwards’ move though.

Lad goes with my fondest appreciation and best wishes (except for 2 games next season). Thanks for the fish.

I dunno Fin. Time will tell whether its a backwards move for him eh. I don't have any issue with Max or any player moving on to better themselves...but for me Brissle was an odd move...but I guess JK38 had some influence in his decision??

Terry, he didn’t move because he thought Bristol City would be bigger than Derby in footballing terms. He’s been at Derby since he was 6 and just wanted a different life experience, living in a different place, doing different things. And Bristol is a great city. Might have helped his decision that Knight is there but probably not a major factor.

Just watched highlights of U18s tonk Liverpool away by 5-1!!! Cruz Allen and Wheeldon outstanding and someone (name lost on me ) got a hat-trick.

Also Brown looked great for the Heed in the Trophy final. Maybe he should be in the first team squad next season or we could be in danger of losing him.

Cheers Chicago

Hat-trick hero was J. Oguntolu. Fingers crossed it's a sign of things to come from our Academy given how many young raw talented players we'd lost.

Herbie Kane linked. I assume they have not misspelled Harry.

Thanks Desi. Difficult to comment on this lad as all his goals were basically tap-ins.

When the heck are DCFC to announce the retained list? This should at least give us a clue as to the type of players we will need to get in.

Radio Derby wax lyrical-ing D Brown and his time at Gateshead. Newcastle United and Sunderland are known to have scouted him.

I think he needs half a season with a L1 team that play with an open attacking style then return to us.

Dwight Gayle was at the FA Trophy and spoke to Ed Dawes , impression is he won't be returning to Derby.

Bit harsh, Chicago.
You could equally say he made them look like easy finishes

Brown needs to have a good pre-season and convince Warne he can be at least at the level of a Dobbin or JJ in their loan periods, a player who might be raw but who could just turn the occasional game our way. Cruz might not be too far away either.

Two ex Derby players with PL and Championship experience released this week. Andreas Weimann and Max Lowe have been released from Bristol City and Sheffield United respectively.

As we're looking to bring the age down Weimann would obviously go against that transfer requirement however as an experienced pro with a strong level of experience at Champ level and knowing the club inside out would he be worth a 1 year contract?

Likewise with Max Lowe, should he go on the LB target list if 'our' first choice target of Burrows proves unfruitful?

Terry has posted a couple of transfer rumours on the 'Spanish friends' thread which includes Burrows and Kane on a list of possible targets.

Kane seems a good option but doesn't quite appeal to me (not sure why) when compared with some of the other rumoured CM targets.

In other 'did you know' news I was listening to Andy Cole on the G Neville, ian Wright, Roy Keane podcast today and he mentioned whilst at Bristol City that Derby showed an interest in him. He was interested too but the deal fell through due to poor comms from Arsenal's side.

So in the past two weeks I've learned we were very close to getting Tim Sherwood in before he went to Blackburn and Andy Cole before he joined Newcastle.

Add to that list Roberto Baggio considering joining us in the summer of '99 (was it?) and Emmanuel Petit (before he went to Arsenal) and it could have been a rather interesting group of players.

I don't want to see Yman and especially Lowe back. I'm hoping for better.
